Snetterton track day.

I had my first go round a track yesterday in my Illiad vee. What a great experience.

I was very nervous first thing in the morning but the nerves soon left after a couple of sessions. I was a long way from fast but with some tuition I managed to get quicker and really start to enjoy trying to get it right.

The car held its own and didn't miss a beat all day and wasn't half as scary to drive near the limit as I was expecting, I'm still not quite sure what made me book in for a trackday in December whilst a lot of vees and tucked away in the warmth of their garages but I am so glad I did.

Anyway a couple of pics. Some aren't great but it was Kirstys first go with a camera! Luckily there was a photographer present!

Well played Dan. In stark contrast I sat in mine for 15 mins yesterday to keep it ticking over whilst on its Winter SORN. You clearly had infinitely more fun :approve:

Has this whet your appetite for more track work?

Good going Dan. Seems like you had a lot of fun. :approve:

Guess this means you will have a go at Goodwood in August (Origine RS)?

Certainly did. I think I'll be tempted by all trackdays now! The biggest problem I have about tracking at goodwood is the distance I am from home but I'll certainly consider it.

Ha ha it's probably a lot colder up in Scotland tho, in Norfolk yesterday it was over 12 degrees and sunshine.
I'd love to get out on track more but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do it I the vee regularly. I paid for insurance yesterday just in case the worst happened.

Thank you for doing so! It makes me sad to see them stored away in the dark for no-one to see (or hear!) :(

It's a shame but totally understandable why people park them up. Its not just owners that love them the amount of conversations I had with people admiring it was unreal.
