Slight oil leak

I have a slight oil leak from just above the sump.

It's not the sump or sump gasket but the gasket for the part which is connected above the sump, what part is it I'm looking for as I don't know the name.

Thanks.

snap mate am fae north of u mate by dundee ive also got oil leak but i still head chapping min was giving a gid hiding the day

"strengtner plate" ? Wrong written i'll think...

On wich side is the leak ? Is it near the alternator ? If so, check the corner off the rockercover gasket first. Whe had that prob with phil's car and Andy noticed the rockercover gasket...there it was !

Thats the crankcase strengthener. New gasket....NO sealer.

The rocker cover is at the top of the engine?

This is near the bottom, you have the sump and the sump is bolted onto the part above, it's the gasket for the part above the sump that is leaking?
Oil pump housing maybe or something?

You replied as I was typing Dave lol.

So I'll need 2 gaskets then, the sump and the crankcase strengther.

Simple to do I take it?

Hi Daz
What Jo is saying the rocker gasket leaks and the oil runs down the side of the engine. Is the engine dry above the crank case strengther?
