Better leave the organisers to explain properly but it was an organisational shambles/nightmare from the SIlverstone side as I was told, so much so its put the team off from doing it again.webbo":3ismzpav said:Hi any particular reason why we aren’t going. It’s a fantastic event and it’s the only one I can get my better half to do because it’s not simply a day at a race track, watching racing There’s so much more going on. What’s the reason for not attending after a good few years of being part of a great event

Plus, after all the hassle, the turnout was terrible - I went on the Saturday and if i'd put the effort in to organise and got that turnout I wouldnt do it again either. I was very surprised given how many were there the year before.

I would contact Stephen Dell at Renault Alpine Owners Club. There’s a good chance they will attend and they’d always welcome Vee compadres.webbo":inlrglz8 said:As the person who opened this can of worms, thanks everyone for the info and back story. I do appreciate a lot of effort goes into us/me arriving at the event with everything sorted. However we had booked Saturday and there was no way, despite having paid, that me and mi lady were tramping round in the p…..g rain all day. Silverstone was the only event we attended with the club because it’s the best. If the club isn’t attending in future we’ll go in the daily and bid you farewell and good luck. Thanks for the good bits
My Phase one was there on the SaturdayBREMBO":21rsm0v5 said:Although the line up above is still intresting a Phase 1 V6 would have finished it offmaybe a Trophy and a Spyder.
Come to the ClioSport festival at Anglesey and get your car on the trackwebbo":1xmembly said:As the person who opened this can of worms, thanks everyone for the info and back story. We did receive an invitation for 2025 (in November 2024), but the organisers (Silverstone) are not willing to reinstate the setup and de-rig processes as they were prior to 2024, which meant a huge amount of hassle and red tape, filling in irrelevant forms, signing up to TeamCard (Silverstone's online portal for contractors) and T's & C's relevant to contractors, having to have photo ids, and all manner of other nonsense meant that I wasn't willing to go through that again.
By all means, if someone else is willing to step up and take over, do PM me and I would be happy to answer any questions and pass on the relevant details. If not, then I don't believe we will return to Silverstone. Having said that, the event at Circuit club de Magny-Cours (that Kett has posted a link to), and the road trip, may just be the best alternative that is on offer for 2025.

Train crash indeed!
Silverstone was difficult to organise back when I did it, after that it became an absolute nightmare to deal with them. The final visit to Silverstone has spurred me on towards moving on with the future of v6clio.net
I will be posting about this very soon.
