Seats At Last ;-)

looks a good driving positon martin! you dont realise how frikkin huuuge the std seats are until you see a proper bucket in a vee!

Yes Colin the driving position is similar to the standard seat - as I had it set anyway.

The sliders make a difference as I can still position the seat where I want. It is very much more supportive and lighter compared to the stock one.

The Cobra subframes do seem to be pretty well set-up in terms of height and bolt holes etc. It was a simple job to re-drill where necessary to fit the seats onto them.

Martin

Martin - Lookin rather tasty that seat. Will you have the other 1 in by the Blackpool meet?

You just know i will be picking your brains about it all day 2mz.

Im asking as i have just bought 2nd hand cobra subs but
may want to fit different seats, other than cobra.

Thanks

Mossy they are easy to adapt - check out my Wiki as I update it with pics and dimensions etc.

Jainy, haven't you started to use a new expression on here ? I think it is CF !

You will find it quite hard to fit them though I'm afraid ;-)

So - as Mr V6 seat man, OK a self appointed title I know LOL

I have bought some Recaro trendlines from a Honda Accord Type R (they are actually black but the flash makes em look a lot lighter) ...

I have always liked the Trophy trendlines but not the price and, despite the Momos looking ace, I want to see what my Vee looks like with the OEM style Recaro seats in place.

I will probably try genuine Recaro subframes on this occassion - to see how they look and fit etc. and will report back.

Mossy has first dibs on the Momos but if he doesn't want them they will most likely be for sale ready to fit with subframes - if anyone is interested ? Price will be around £450 for the lot.

Martin

I just butchered a stock seat subframe after realising the bolt holes line up with the Recaro bolt holes ! In fact the stock mounting holes look suspiciously like Recaro ones or maybe it is a standard configuration in the seat industry ...

I just need an angle grinder to take of some surplus metal but reckon I can get away without any new subframes and get an OEM look - of course I have to sacrifice my stock subframes but I ain't ever gonna use them seats again ...

I will post some pics ASAP ;-)

Martin
