Seats At Last ;-)

I have been wanting some seats for a while, especially the Recaro style and saw these today at Demon Tweeks - bargain at a negotiated £366 for the pair - they were already on sale too ;-) Just need to get some runners fabricated ... They are probably not as sturdy as the Recaro seats but are very light and comfortable.

Also Jainy had her full wheel alignment done to Peters specs, I will let her comment on that but the charge was £57 all in - I think she got a good deal myself as they adjusted all the angles, maybe it was those eyelashes that did it LOL

Good price for alignment, provided it is carried out correctly.

Peter had if I remember correctly carried out in Maidenhead for some where in that price range.

The normal DT price is ... £40 base price plus £15 per angle adjusted.

They take as long as is needed and the guy we spoke seemed pretty good at explaining what the effect of the adjustments he made should be, and described some pre-existing issues, based on the starting settings, which Jainy confirmed. This suggested that he wasn't just 'operating' the equipment - which is always a good sign.

I will take mine in next week as it definately feels more twitchier at the back than I am comfortable with.

i disagree with price bcos my uncle (a66 tyres, Family business) only charges £35 at the most for laser alignment and that includes setting the camber, toe, etc

oh and on a seperate note them seats look fantastic so might have to invest in aset when i get the vee back if i've forgiven her and don't sell her

Well....fluttering eyelashes or not  the man did a good job indeedy....my car felt a little "drifty" at about 85/90mph....but just got back home now and it's drove like a dream on the way back....had a bit of a blurt up to about 110mph (naughty Jainy ) but if felt much more 'grippy' than it did before....so I am one very, happy [smilie=bunny_4.gif]

Well worth taking your Vee for £57 all-in...!!! I am now thinking about seats and steering wheel.....!!! What have you done Martin, introducing me to Demon Tweeks..?!!

That's a pretty good price indeed :D think I'll have to have a run down to DT's and have mine checked out.

Did they tell you the before and after settings Jainy [smilie=question.gif]

Phill

Yes Phill, you get a full report showing the before and after settings :D

Shows clearly how many angles they have changed - what the setting was previously and how much they changed the alignment. Well worth having it done Phill....my car feels loads better... [smilie=cool.gif]

I have a dillema now as I just bought these off e-bay for a bargain price - my luck must be in this week.

Picking up ...

Need to fabricate something I think ...

Which ones shall I keep and which ones will I sell on (not for profit). I think the Evo seats are the ones I really want to fit though ...

Any comments welcome about which seats people would prefer in a Vee - the Evo seats would look ace in an Illiad blue car ...

Martin

Look ace Martin....!!! How much would you be selling the Evo's for if you decided to keep the Momo's....?? (you're right though, they would look ace in an Illiad Blue Vee...!!! tee hee :D :D )

Martin - Seats look awesome. Now the bid dilema which ones to fit.

Personally i prefer the recaros. :approve: But like i said maybe a little bit of fun fitting them but im sure you will do a good job and have them in pretty soon. :D

Steve

The Recaros are definately a fair bit heavier but they are the style which I think suits the Vee best. My only reservation is the blue bolsters which I can either get retrimmed or perhaps dyed.

I will get my technical design head on and make some runners out of wood and plasticine ;-)

Found this article about fitting Recaros into a Clio for anyone that is interested ...

Yes they are nice blakey ;-)

I might just buy some more seats and open a shop LOL In fact I have a shed load (literally) of car parts so maybe that should be my vocation or maybe I already have one - a hoarder ;-)
