Renault Megane dci

Does anybody know anything about these? A 'non car nut' friend of mine is after a new runaround, and has been sniffing round a 2005 Megane dci. I know nothing about the dci engine. Is it any good?

I'm guessing the car itself is like the 225. Great in general, if you ignore the electrical side of things :D

I have run a MeganeII 1.5 Dci from new for the past 6 years and it has been perfect. I get an 45-49mpg on my stop-start trip to work & 55-60 on a run.
As for electrical issues none on mine & ones we do see at work you can see and tell the problems are caused by bad maintenance/ neglect or poor repairs done by people who do not know the product & systems.
The internet chat regarding Windows problems are again mainly caused by poor practices by various means which can cause the wiring to loose its water resistance at the connectors which leads to corrosion of the door looms regulator terminals.

Hi my partner is looking to sell her 5 Dr 175 dci in black, unsure if it's black gold but does look like the same black gold colour on the 182,
in summary it's a her plus 1 other owner from new.

07 plate
completely unmodified and no expense has been spared to keep her in tip top condition
full leather
climate cruise control esp
panaramic sunroof
full electric pack
unmarked both inside and out
refurbished 18inch cup alloys in anthracite 1 month ago
over 2000 spent recently new battery, fully serviced, new genuine Renault spring
steering rack gaiter Renault lower anti roll bar bushes and much more.
it drives absolutely faultlessly and is still has a 1 year AA warranty so no hidden reason for sale.

Blimey Adam - That looks just like mine, and the spec' is almost the same as well. Mine's a black gold, 5 door petrol 225 with full leather, panoramic roof, full electrics, xenons, sat nav, cd changer..... :D

My mate's only looking for a cheap run of the mill one though.

Thanks for the reply. That doesn't sound too shabby.

The only things that have failed on my 225 are electrical issues. 3 of the 4 locking buttons don't work. 3 of the 4 unlock sensors don't work, 2 of the windows don't work, and the steering wheel squib broke. All of those appear to be common issues.
