Renault M5M/M5P block similarities to Nissan MR blocks?

Been doing a bit of research lately and I'm hoping someone here can provide a bit more insight.

I have a Nissan MR16DDT (1.6 L) which as it appears in photos has similar cooling ports and mounting locations to the M5M block. Is anyone able to give me a very confident yes or no that these blocks are the same? And other than displacement to the M5P block (its 1.8 L) is the MR 16 the same to that as well?

I am 99.9% sure these are the same blocks known by differing names depending on if you buy a Nissan or a Renault.

I cannot validate at the moment if the M5P is a bored/stroked M5M.
