5 GT Turbo Renault 5 B18ft fuel line

Hello
I have an issue with a fuel leak coming from where the metal fuel line meets a braided fuel hose on the flow side of the fuel lines. If I crank the car and its starts first time it is fine but if I crank for longer than five seconds or so I get a leak from the nearest side pipe at the bottom presumably when the line has lots of fuel pressure but its not going to the return its leaking.
I'm pretty sure its not the return pipe so it must be when the fuel line is under pressure and its leaking from the join. The setup is a bit Heath Robinson as it was to get the conversion up and running. So I need a better join where the pipe is?

The other end is like this IMAG0026.webp
So I should probably cut the plastic pipe of the fuel rail inlet and have a pipe going straight from the union (although this is not where the problem is) and sort the bottom pipes also . Do you think it's because the pipe fit is not as tight as it could be?
Any suggestions welcome, pics, links etc!? I think the external diameter of the fuel line is 9mm so maybe buy some pipe with that size as the internal diameter and redo?
or is there too much fuel line going into the braided fuel line at the bottom (about 6 inches) and this is causing the join to leak under pressure?

What have other folks done?

Cheers

Indeed it needs some remidial work.
The second picture is the union attached to the fuel rail. It must have a metal lug on the end that the plastic fuel pipe is attached to.
I think i'd jubilee some new fuel pipe to that (nylon braided stuff is reasonable money on eBay), then run that to the solid line under the car (8mm copper pipe).
