Removing Quicksilver Exhaust..........

Removed the back Bumper today to remove the Exhaust..............now all sorted :approve:

My question is the small box that sits above the Exhaust that I'm guessing is called the "Collector Box", if this a Cat or just another Baffle section ?

Just wondering what it does as I was thinking of removing etc etc.

As always learning as I go along............

That's the collector box pal. Contains 2 cats that an be removed.

Ah right............the "Cats" are in that thing.

So much easier with my last car - 1980 Escort...........as basic as you could get :)

Not like these "ultra" modern V6 Clio's :tumble:

I'll just get my coat !

2 are but another two are in the downpipes too.

Remember Addz doing his and commenting it was very easy to decat the cp. He had the Quicksilver OMG back box and it was loud! Lol.

So guessing if I remove the Cats in the collector box the 2 inboard Cats will still clean enough CO2 to allow the car to pass an MOT ?

Not that I'm anywhere near this point.............. :s

Thanks for the pics Matt..............might be something I just have made further down the line, so i still have the original in one piece.

It if u really want to remove it u could just have that section fabricated and keep the original, I can't c it being huge money. Then if u don't like it put the original back in.

Hi Oli.........let me know how the exhaust goes along with the section being made.

Nice to have met you today by the way :salut:

The collector box can be decatted using a piece of solid bar knocked in to break the honeycomb ceramic stuff ;) No cutting / welding required :approve:
This is what I got out of mine;
