Any idea how much it'd cost me at a garage to have the ABS pump removed, master cylinder replaced with a non ABS master cylinder, and new brakes lines to front and rear following the existing path of the old brake lines (not just gashed in anyhow)?

Or, do you think a complete brake line novice like myself would be able to do it? Bearing in mind i've got no kit to enable me to bleed brakes, no kit to shape the pipes, etc etc etc.

Cheers

Does he fancy doing TEW? :D

ABS is pissing me off! I'm in the process of taking the engine out and i'm not dropping it back in until ABS is gone. It proper gets in the way.

VEW also needs doing in the near future too.

Name a price?

im sure he would but its a job that needs the engine out ideally, i think he got rid of willvers ABS in like an hour its not to much of a hard job i dont think from a spectators point of view!

easy enough with a few right right tools...

and they would be cheaper than paying a garage...but mark sounds your best bet

Can't really afford to be buying more tools rapidly running out of money this month :(

I'll txt mark. Cheers

If you want to go budget get an old clio from a scrappy and get the non abs brake lines off it. Theres 2 joins just under the bulkhead for the rear lines so you only need all the front stuff. New non abs master cylinder.

One thing you MUST be careful of is the threads of the pipe fixings. they are really easy to xthread!

That sounds like a good plan actually.

Think i might do it that way, then it's just the front calipers that need new brake lines, correct?

What method can i use to drain the brake fluid and start ripping the ABS unit out?

no you need all four that come out of the non abs master cylinder

the rear two just screw into the join under the bulkhead mate
