Rear Light Issue

Andy V6

New Member
All my lights work fine except my rear left?

As in none of the lights come on, brake, sidelight, reverse, etc.

I looked at the manual for the fuse but there isn't a seperate fuse for this light.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I've realised now 1 light does work!

The left indicator, however it's fainter than the right cluster flashes and when the left indicator comes on the 3rd brake light flashes in sync?

Bad earth for that light cluster, would be my guess.

Whip the light out, and take a look. Earth lead is probably all corroded, and that would lead to lights interfering with each other.

Yep, same thing happened with mine 6 months ago.
The points on the rear cluster connectors seemed to have oxidised. I simply cleaned them up and it's been fine since.

Well looking into it more seems to be a wiring issue.

Left indicator makes the rear brake light flash and both rear side indicators flash very lighty

Brake pedal only lights up the 3rd brake light

Rear side lights only the rear right comes on.

Reverse only the rear right comes on

Rear Fogs only the rear right comes on.

So apart from the brake light the rear right is ok. (Which could be just a bulb)

As for the left nothing really works?

Sound like the same thing that happened to mine. It's got to be the rear left unit as a whole (not bulbs and not fuses). I was surprised by the level of corrosion at the contact points when a removed it. Bit of emery paper did the trick. French electrics eh? [smilie=bom.gif]
Good luck!

Would the left rear light have an effect on the 3rd brake light and right rear light as well though?

They all wired in line or seperate?

Can't understand why when I put the left indicator on the right one flashes a little to
