Raspy Exhaust?

I've got a Mk1 Clio 1.4. Can anyone recommend a backbox? It's going to be decatted and centre silencer removed. I want the exhaust to sound raspy rather than boomy. Suggestions?

Raspy will be too droney mate, take it from me i had a straight through on a couple of my old cars and hated them!, better off getting a custom backbox made up, most places will knock a basic one up for 100 quid

go remus mate, on my cabby that remus is the most beautiful sound ever, i was 12 hours early for a boat in liverpool and spent most of it blowing up and down the victoria tunnell enjoying the noise from a remus on a 16v, trust me youll want to fuck your own car if you get one, its a hum but when you aggressively rev it its raspy

on my 19 the decat with the rest standard gives a good rasp in the powerband without sounding like i'm being hunted by killer bees all the time

Thanks for your replies people I'll try the decat, and if it's not enough, I'll go Remus. I have no problem being gay, none of my mates do either

A rasp is a nasty noise. if your car doesn't ahave a rasp from standard why add it? Give me a deep booming exhaust note over a cheesey rasp anyday of the week.


My M3 has a raspy exhaust note and I fecking hate it but it would cost thousands to buy an exhaust that would get rid of the rasp.

if u decat it you will get a rasp instantly, dont remove the centre box because if you put on a back box it will be un bareable
