could be ignition, Hard to tell as in 1st the engines not loaded that much, the higher gears the loading on the engine (fuel and ignition) is increased.

you got the boost cut out switch plugged in?

ok ive fixed the problem i cleaned the carb out totally and swopped sum bits of my old carb.. and swopped to pipes over on the fuel sender unit and it runs fine and boosts.. but boost is a bit slow and does boost like it used to..and no i dnt have it plugged in cheers
