GTX F2N

New Member
Hello, I was pointed this way from RetroRides, Here is my pretty standard
'89 R5 GTX. With a throbbing 1.7 engine and what is essentially a piece of scaffolding for an exhaust.

welcome and hey a 5 shell is quite the attractive piece of scaffolding for just about anything, again welcome to the forum

welcome..i have also a gtx :P did you notice a differents after removing the center boxes?

pretty sure i have seen your gtx about a few times. (y)

Alright tob123, Removing the two centre boxes and swapping over to 2.5" bore all the way has made quite a difference, that F2N engine is not X-flow, so any halp it can get breathing is going to be appreciated. I have a Weber carb rather than the solex too, which helps. I would like to drop in a Volvo turbo engine rather than the 16v, keep it retro.
The car is now lowered about 60mm all round.

thanks for the info (y) gonna get a bit of scrap pipe to remove the center boxes sometime then maybe go for 2.5 system e.t.c.
60mm drop sounds good!! you might need camber correctors tho?
been thinking about dropping mine, it sits a little to high in the arches for my liking.

then an engine swap sometime aswell, but not for a while yet.

cheers
