I like this thread very much
For some reason sanding marks kept appearing around 8 months after I painted mine, they could all be sanded and polished away though..

This is what happens when primers etc don’t dry properly.

Got the car loaded up yesterday after having an absolute nightmare of a morning!




Got to the Paint shop in one piece - much arse twitching!




First night away from home in a long time!!

Cold beer tonight (not 8 lol), chill and hit it hard tomorrow.....assuming your on it tomorrow.

Got there bright and breezy this morning and got cracking with cleaning, checking and masking up!


Tony then checked it over and gave it his seal of approval bar a couple of small spots! We then sanded it back with some 400G pads. Tony advised to get a wet on wet primer on it so that it is all uniform prior to putting the base on!


Ready for wet on wet!

I am over the moon with the way it is going so far, the shell and panels are all pretty straight, there is one patch on the tailgate that needs attention which we will sort tomorrow!

Back there tomorrow to get some tungy on!!!

Looks class. Fair play for getting stuck in and prepping/painting it yourself, it aint easy to prep and lay paint.

Got there today and scuffed everything with some 800G pads, this got rid of any nibs.



Tony then filled a couple of spots with Dolphin glaze and sanded them back.
and he sorted out my dodgy repair on the tailgate!


Even the fuel cap got some lovin!!


Tony then mixed up a small batch of primer to blow in the repair areas!


I got a bit too heavy handed with the 800G so Tony blew them in too!



Then we mixed ip some Tungy, gave everything a blow over and a good clean! Tony hit it with the anti-static gun!



Then I got on with getting the base coat on under the watchful eye of Tony!

And then this happened!!

Had to stop and sort this out! Tony on the case! All sorted and moved on!

Tony sorted the pot drip and blew over it!



Tonys look of disapproval after the pot drip incident - I think his words were "You have one fuc***g job"


Ready for clear coat!



I clear coated the bonnet, tailgate and wings, Tony clear coated the shell!







Didn't get time to finish all of the plastics - Bumpers body kit, Grille or the doors. Tony is going to finish them off during the week for me and I will hopefully collect the car next weekend!
