Megane R26 230 F1 - The Journey so far

Hi Guys,

After a warm welcome from @andybond and seeing his thread, I have decided to start my own thread about me and the R26.

A little about me, got brainwashed at an early age with 'max power' magazines' and ever since I was 13 the bug has bit me.

Cars previously owned:
E30 316i, E36 316i, Subaru Impreza (bug eye - GX), Subaru Impreza WRX PPP (Blob eye), E46 320i M Sport Convertible, Ford Focus Ghia 2.0 tdci, E90 330i M Sport, Mercedes CLK 320 CDI (Dont Ask!), Mazda Mx5 1.6i NB, Renault Clio RS200, E92 M3
and now to the glorious R26.

Was sad to see the M3 go but was very much needed to be sold due to financial reasons.

The R26, build 2684:
I have owned the car for 6 weeks at time or writing this and it has been an interesting start so far. 82k on the clock, 2 previous owners and spent most of her time in Scotland. Huge amounts of history but none from specialists, I write this as there will be more evidence of this later.

Got the car for £5.5k which I deemed as reasonable as the car was advertised for £6.5k.

Changed so Far:
I knew it had 2 near illegal tires, so changed them for michelin sports pS2, as they were currently on the car.
Had broken NSF suspension coil, so changed all four springs for new Eibach pro along with new genuine renault struts all round.
New top mounts, genuine renault.
New Lower drop links genuine renault.
New drop links genuine renault.
New track rod ends non genuine renault.
Cambelt, water pump, aux kit, coolant, and full service performed by Mark Black (top guy)
Short shift mod - Mark Black
New NSF hub bearing
Air box Mod
Back box silencer delete
New genuine renault exhaust mounts
Laser Alignment, toe corrected.
Replace standard headunit with Pioneer one from early motoring days.
Replaced both H7 headlamps, too much bonnet slamming I guess.

I checked all history on the car and no sign of a cambelt change, however there was a receipt of a water pump change. I took the gamble and went for the belt change anyway, and to shock horror it was on the standard belt. Who changed the water pump but not the belt!!! Criminal!

Up next:
RST remap
eBay intercooler
Decat
MOT, hopefully get this done all next week at RST.

The car is an awesome machine for the money, just excited to get it remapped and chase down german whips!

Welcome along mate!!!

What colour is it? Get some pics up when you get a chance?

I notice you collected the car from Scotland? are you from up North?

It's black. The car made its way down to the midlands from Scotland via dealers.

I'm from Birmingham. Will put some pics up.
