5 GT Turbo R225 ENGINE CONVERSION

Has anyone done a Megane R225 engine conversion in a 5GT. If it possible can anyone help with some advice things like gear box to use etc etc.

225/R26 NDO box will require a load of chopping on the n/s chassis rail. Vag 1.8t might be a better conversion, its not renault but fitting the full lump and the gearbox is the way forward. The jb/jc is weak on a high torque 2.0 turbo setup.

Yes one of the boxes fits ok from memory. Some of the 6 speed boxes no chance though lol

225 engine isn't worth the extra expensive ink.
Scoff sells the Renault/vw gearbox adapter plate and flywheel.
Ive got a 172 decompression plate when you want more boost @Adey

Agree the 6 speed is a chunk bigger and heavier than the 5 speed. I don't recall the 02m fitting but may fit with the non vag lump?

The 6 gears just spread out the 5 and 5/6 are the same

I had to change the fd on the petrol box due to smaller circumference of wheel / tyre of Renault setup v vag. From memory I used a 3.3 vr6 fd
