21 Turbo R21 Turbo QUADRA RHD Braking Problems

Hi all, i didn't post for a long, but am kinda busy, mounting my house.

Don't know if you will recognize me, but am a French guy.
Am the owner of former Malcolm Bailey's R21 Turbo Quadra RHD.

And for few months, am on trouble with brakes on this car...

In fact, no more assistance, the pedal is veeeeery hard to push.

Tried to change pump (cause it made fuses blow up)... So has been changed.
After that, changed pressure switch (bought one new).

And nothing changed, still hard.

So, for me, i'm trying my best to find few parts, but in France, it's impossible, and I really want to fix it.

So, if you can try to help me find those References, could be good :
- 7701203200 (Master cylinder). Just in case it could come from here...
- 7701203201 (Bloc electrovanne)
- 7701202800 (accumulator)

For the rest, i can find equivalent.

Thanks in advance, and take care, all

Julien

--> Now, i'm sure of that... If someone knows how to rule this problem, I'm ready to welcome him, for help !!!

I want to drive it outside again, my friends !!!
Let me know if someone owns parts to solve this problem, and is ready to, I'll be pleased !!

So, forgot to push pedal without ignition 20 times... just did it, even 25 times, and opened ignition, pump doesn't stop at all !!!!

Damn it ...

And last question... bought new copper gaskets, for the "banjo screw", mounted up the pump. (took the good size, to fit in the round metal part of the hose)

And when I unmounted it, everything was dead, and didn't note how many gaskets needed to be put in it. Is it one up and one down ? Thanks

Hi, all,

Trie tonight, to make further tests... pumped without ignition 20 times.
Turned the contact on, but the pedal wasn't softer for the first time (they say it in my night book). And after that, tne pump was still running after more than 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and the two lights on the dashboard were still on... so no pressure at all on the accumulator.
Normally, Parking light turns off after 105 bars, and ABS Light after 180 bars, and the pump turns off....

But here, not possible.

So unmounted the banjo screw, to remove copper gaskets... left one down, and two up, but a good thing, for the first time, the banjo screw wasn't dry (like other times...) So remounted the screw with two gaskets up, and one down, and tried again... The same !!!

So, no pressure, or problem with Pressure Switch... do someone know how to diagnose the Pressure Switch, or the cables ? Just in case...

After that, must check if there is a problem with microbeads on the pump ?

I'm exploring whatever I can...

Thanks for your help.

Pumping the pedal is to empty the accumulator of pressure, you dont need to do that when fitting a new part, only when disassembling it.

The pump stores the pressure in the black ball, if the pump is running then it's not generating pressure, or its not being stored correctly.

Try running the pump without the ball on briefly (make sure there are rags and stuff to catch and ejected fluid!), you should see it deliver fluid out the nozzle. I assume you have checked there is fluid in the reservoir up to the max level (it'll take a lot of fluid from empty) and the feed pipework to the accumulator inlet is free flowing and allowing fluid in.

Oh, and just in case i need to change more parts...

Does someone have "on spare" :
- The master cylinder with the tank (in working condition)
- An opening rooftop

The rooftop, it's beginning to open "not straight"... so i know what it means !!
For the master cylinder, it's just if I manage to find it comes from here, I will need it for sure... (with hydrulic regulation equipment, off course)

Thank you all !! :help.gif:

Hello all... news from the Quadra.... didn't take the road back for now...

Sorry, lack of knowledge for me, on this case.

BUT (yep, there is a BUT, in my story...) I made a call, to a friend of mine in NetherLands, who knows this kind of system, and he has a co-worker in his garage, who really wants to learn how first ABS systems work...

Move On Ok GIF by Jeff Dunham

So, the good thing, in a few days, this car will leave on a trailer, and it will be completely restored, by a garage, in NL.

That's a good thing, cause i really want to drive it again as soon as possible.

Pictures will arrive, when it' ll leave my place, and also when it'll be on restoration (chassis, paint, engine, etc...)

Voilà !!!
