Andrew, cheers.
To be honest I'd better apologise for being an ignorant git. I'm in a foul mood today after a contractor but his hand in a scissor lift/platform. I'll try not to act like a 2 year in the future
Hi all,I have had some made up,inner and outer. The "special" ingredient is the rubber!
A relalive of mine is an inventor, not the mad hair Dr Emmet Brown type (back to the future) but with chemical patents.
The rubber is a poly variation with excellent characteristics such as being able to throw out all the energy that it receives. This means under the hardest driving conditions it wont get hot or even warm through friction. Also its characteristics remain unchanged between temperatures of -40c and +80c.
Those of you who know me know that I'm in the family business of zinc/aluminium flaming and nylon powdercoating where chemical/coating processes are developed which is where the bush rubber has come about.
Hi All (and Pete - thanks for the apology. I've been pretty busy at work myself for the past couple of years, so bushes manufacturing, etc. has had to take a back seat).
It seems a lot of us have investigated rear bushes stuff over the years, but never really got anywhere.
Pete - your suggestion for sharing may be a very good one! Together we may be able to achieve more.
Right-ho. I'll dig out some of the bushes I have here, and post some pictures in the other thread.
my gtt head had a massive skim of 1.5mm (its a long story) however i had the combustion chamber releived on the back face to bring the compression back to near standard. Didnt have any problems with gasket failure it went on to do another 25,000miles no problem before I sold it
