QuickSilver Straight through exhaust - advice needed!!

give it a go without the chip first and see how you get on!

I think most people with the full systems have not chipped them so you might find you don’t need to.

I seem to remember reading some posts about prospeed exhausts on here, prob worth doing a search to see what you can find!

think i am going to go full system, just a bit annoying have to go and spank a grand on getting it chipped to sort out fuelling problmes though! Does anyone know much about Prospeed? Have heard good things but only seem to be a couple of people have them on their Vee's but lots of boys on the Cliosport forum have them and rave about them

You're more likely to find that the system works with no need to "chip" it but in order to extract the most benefit from the upgrade you would want to have it chipped/mapped.

Emissions light coming on is just because the cats are no longer there so the ECU sees unexpected results from the lamba sensors. It does not necessarily indicate that you have a fueling/mapping problem.

Unless the system is significantly radical in terms of manifold design and the remaining pipe work (e.g. equal length headers etc) your primary "wins" will be nicer noise, slightly less weight (not sure that you'll achieve the very high weight savings mentioned above) and a possibly a performance increase.

I will add the least technical bit of info.

My emissions light is permanently on due to having no cats, and when a coil packs up the light flashes. I had wondered what would happen if there was a problem.
