More out of intrest because im pretty convinced its going too be crazy money, buttt how much do you think it would be to insure say a MkI V6 for an 18 year old under his mother or fathers name and one of them being the named driver and the 18 year old being the additional driver ?

Any help... thanking you :P

I am guessing at 2k plus, that is if anyone will underwrite the risk. Limited mileage cover may help a bit but you want to be able to drive the thing.

Id say its a def no go.

I found it hard enough at 20

Id think you will be looking at 3k plus out of experience

yep...when i got mine at 20...i only found one company who didnt laugh!

even then it was £2540 in my dads name with me as main driver

subway from cliosport somehow has it in his dads fleet policy for £1200 he is only 19!

The more ways you try and get the quote down ie traders poilicy, named drivers etc is always increasing the risk the the insurance company will find one way or another to get out of coughing up if in the event of an accident.

Insurance is such a big business thats prone to fraud that they will find absoulutely any excuse to get out of paying.

IIRC traders insurance is normally only third party anyway thus being so cheap might be wrong tho.

Unless you have shed loads of cash and/or are a great driver, and I don't mean any disrespect, but the V of all cars could easily kill you or have you crying into your supper if it bites you in the arse ...

But if you are serious enough and want one badly enough you will find a way.

Good luck.

Yea id agree with k1ano, ive driven all my cars hard and on track etc and none handle like the vee, its a experienced drivers car. It caught almost every journalist who drove one out!

Thanks guys, think it might be a shi*ty hot hatch of some sort, then put some money away for the V6, tempting to get one! but going with the sensible choice. :)
