Project MOJO continuation of RR members work

I suppose i Need some pictures.
Mike do i have permission to pinch yours.
here is a linky to the work mike had started: http://www.retro-renault.com/forums/renault-1990-1992/17420-project-mojo.html#post148031

Anyway Car was collected, did i need another R19? NO however best to save them when i can.

I have no pictures atm, my day started well dropping jack on my camera, lets hope there is a replacement in my stocking.

Job for today, kick out cars in garage to create some working space in garage. AX x2 and a uno ousted. R19 in. up on ramps, slacken the driveshaft nut then wheelnuts. up in the air on assortment of jacks and axlestands. wheels off.

Sill covers off. Grot in mikes pics is a hole in rear of Sill. needs grinding out and a plate. Either need to get a new mig, attempt to arc crappy renault tin, or Let my mate STU have a go. stay tuned to see which i chose.

Other jobs earmarked: downpipe needs replacing. Not particulary happy with the replacement sections of exhaust, dont line up well with cut outs. i may try make a new backbox with a suitable size tip centered properly. looking for a vectra gsi or maybe a cadillac seville in scrapy to cut one off.
Remove the deck chair seats, replace with leather.
Remove sunroof and seal properly. this means trying to get the silicone off which may be a challenge. not particularly worried about a sunroof so may vinyl the roof to stop the leak.
Lack of use has resulted in quite wet carpets so i'll strip them all out and dry and clean them.

Need to decide what to do about this iffy abs.

stay tuned promise pics soon.
[BREAK=First Update slow progress]

Got my sisters Camera, unforunately lost my spare cards so been restricted to 32mb 10pics!

i682.photobucket.com_albums_vv182_tattyoldvan_Project_20mojo_20R19_20Chamade_IMG_5681.webp Here she sits after 2days. been unwell last few days.

Heres the rust in Drivers Rear sill. not too bad.

Then i found some more. I'll call them the crows feet as i'm used to old jags, its where the sill meets bulkhead chassis section, seen it here before and should expect it, result of years of poor jacking.

I've not dug at any of this yet.

And here is the Sunroof issue, well aftermath of me removing it as the camera took a while to charge.

What a mess, its going to be a pain to dry out. The headlining may need replacement as very soggy

[BREAK=Yet more water]

Finally removed the seats. this ment a lot of swearing on the outermounts despite having well soaked them in WD40.
had to cut both pass nuts a little to releive them only had big grinding discs left :(
Drivers nuts were very rusty so managed to get away with a 12mm banged on good job as fuel lines lil close for grinding.

3gallons of water in footwell. this car is very wet.

temporarily put a spare subframe in to keep it mobile, and allow me to roll it out and pick up all the stray nuts and bolts, and clear up mojos bodilly fluids. hoping to waterproof the shell temporarily so i can get a pressure washer in.

Lots to do, including ripping out that god terrible abs.

Happy new year.

[BREAK=Patented Neal Clean]

Given the car a damn good wash over last few days.
Can do naff all else with powercuts and poor weather. hopefully getting it all welded up next week.

Some pics for you all.

We'll see about that one. Sunroof is a right mess. there is silicone( White bathroom sealant) all over the place. maybe 100mls that is still gloopy under the headling aswell. Still trying to strip it all out to access.
Engine nearly ready to drop. I did start to consider pulling out of top, but my arms are too big to get to anything. plus not keen on covering the garage floor in gearbox oil.
The subframe is a bit of a state anyway so need to tidy it up while i'm at it.
oh and reason abs doesnt seem to work is the front sensors are not connected. and the black box itself pcb is corroded.
Interior is taking ages to dry out, and as usual the seat bolts wont budge.

god this car is wet. finally removed front seats so i could get to the carpet and sponge mats. 3 gallons of stale water i managed to wring out of it. Bulkhead one still in so will tackle that one when or if i have to remove dash and loom.

not much done today with all this foul weather, mate gave me a pressure washer he found at end of his lane with all the rubish on bin day. fitted a new switch and works fine. so i've been crawaling under the 19 washing the shell to within a inch of its life, few bits of paint came off, but nice and clean underneath now. well until i get the underside all ground up.

Used the patented Neal method of hooking it up to engine hoist and getting it up in air works a treat

I'm dreaming of one oneday. I can't really do much welding in the confines of the garage, destinct lack of light. and i have to open the up and over door to get in and out as the door has swelled that and there is a 19 in the way there too. A garage is a dark cold hole used for car storage, a Workshop needs to have heating and a bench!

If you can physically get into the garage at the same time as there's a car parked in there, without being a contortionist, then it's a workshop. :lol:

Well its been sitting here long enough and having a little boy to look after means I dont have time to get this on the road. Things also not looking good where I live therefore having 5 19's plus other cars to consider moving it needs to go.

It hasn't realy changed since Daves last report before the accident. So it currently sits without an engine and interior is stripped. So is a project which would include removing the ABS.
