5 GT Turbo Pigsnake's phase 1 GTT

Great news luke. That looks fantastic. I honestly thought the doors were beyond redemption, or at least the passenger one was. hopefully, your man will prove me wrong

Awesome job on the door. I too thought that was too far gone, just shows what you can do if you have the skills

That's an amazing job on the door! Hopefully he can work that magic on the other side too. Did he mention it needing welding up first?

That test patch on the bonnet really stands out now, doesn't it

Not to long now scratcher till you get your hands on it. :i-m_so_happy.gif:
He's going to try and do it without the welding and straightening first . Only because it's opened up where he needs to get in. I will get a picture so you can all see the state which it's in where it was broken into.

Here's a few pics of the n/s door, its been badly damaged mostly by a scumbag trying to get in with a crowbar and screwdriver.

Really not sure how good I am going to get this back and welded in place. I know the car isn't going to be show room mint but it will be a good original car of nearly 30 years old. Right from the start off this project i wanted it to be as original as it could be, so fingers crossed I can get this door looking good.o_O

A mate of mine who has the local garage said he would like to have a go at welding and straightening the door. Also he would do a pre MOT. So friday night i gave her a service ready for the 1mile epic journey. She didn't let me down, apart from a strange grinding noise from the front wheels.Maybe a bearing or driveshaft. I will investigate that later.
Well here's a few pics.IMG_20150704_091801474.webpThe paintwork looks so much better in these photos it really is bad and needs a polish.

Now I've got to get my Dentman back to see what he can do with the last dents in the door.
The underneath of the car was better than I expected. Ross who had the car before me started to do a few bits on it.
But she needs inner and outer sills and jacking point on o/s. The n/s sills aren't to bad but i will probably replace them it also needs a jacking point this side. Brake pipes were really good still. There was a few other bits but all in all for a car that's been stood for 12 years it pretty bloody good.
:)
