Phase 2 Rear Shocks?

Hi everybody, i'm new here so go easy on me ;)

Would anyone be able to advise me on the price of rear shocks or a ball park figure please?

Been on to the Renault parts site and clicked on Rear shocks but then you click on the options and it only gives you fronts so are the fronts the same as rears?

Many thanks Martin

Martin - I would ask Scott at SGM for a heads up.

6 months ago, there was simply no supply of OEM product. Some parts were being hoarded by enthusiasts and production had (temporarily?) ceased. Scott will be aware of the current situation.

The alternative will be aftermarket - slight wait for the RSC ones though...
; )

Rears aren't available from Renault any more as far as I know, but Scott at SG Motorsport has a small stock of rear shocks. My rear shocks are leaking and need doing, so I've already paid for a couple with Scott ahead of me having some time in a few months for me to get my Vee to him. Being Koni shocks, I believe they can also be rebuilt, and so my plan is to keep my originals for a future spare set rebuild if needed.

You should ask Scott for his current price, but they were cheaper than Renault would have charged you if they still had them ;).

I think you need to establish whether you can source them first of all...

(I'm one of those hoarders btw - guilty as charged!)

I don't even own the car yet, planning to collect it 1st thing in the morning. I've priced up some other stuff it needs but the shocks slipped my mind at the time of asking.

Thanks for that guys but roughly how much should i budget for less or more than £500?
The parts should be a fair bit under £500, though obviously some labour to fit on top and you should have your suspension geometry redone afterwards too.

Thank you guys i can go to be now without staying up all night stressing over it.

I think owning one of these cars is not going to be without it's challenges.

Cheers Martin

In the scheme of interesting rare cars, they're actually pretty robust so hopefully you'll not have too many challenges. I've owned mine for 11 years since new and have done 50-something-thousand miles. Sure I've never had its nose done and it's got next to no paint left, but mechanically these rear shocks and the air con condenser are the first non-service-item repair costs it's really racked up!

Available or not, there isn't anything that cant be solved with a small application of money :)

We had a full set of suspension designed and made for the 21 by GAZ, with a group buy of five people I think it was, it worked out at £700 each. Not the end of the world!

Has anyone tried getting theirs reconditioned by Koni? The shocks are rebuildable apparently. Would effectively be like having a new set :)

2 new rear shocks being delivered tomorrow for my V6 2004,found at a renault dealer that had been sat hidden away ,wont say what I paid but was way below 400
