19 19 16v front struts compatibility.

my r19 16v cabriolet phase 2 has unstable steering at 80kph (ok below and above 80kph) suspect bad left hand strut shock absorber. I have a set of good front struts from my scrapped phase 1 3 door 19 16v. part numbers on top are the same, question is are they a straight swap? just checking with the experts before going ahead with swap over, thanks. come on my old mates I know you can help me.

Yeah, all 16v struts are interchangeable - as they are the exact same parts. Only thing that might be slightly different on a cab is the springs. But even then it won't be different enough for you to notice.

You might also want to check the steering rack mounting bushes - these definitely do go bad and definitely do cause wandering steering.
