9 turbo Phase 1 9 Turbo

Can’t beat a 3 yard shine!! I’m sure you’re being too hard on yourself mate!! Reckon it’ll look great when the snakes next of engine gubbins is back in..!!?

You going to have it ready for the TR Weekend…!!??

It’s certainly coming along now mate!
It was supposed to be a "quick" engine rebuild and the bits it needed for an MOT. Then the sills fell off and... rofl.gif

Oh I also picked the driveshafts up, completely refurbished. £300 (ouch) on top of the £450 gearbox rebuild. Crucifying.

I addressed the runs that had appeared on the suspension turret tops.

That was easy :D

I also refitted the servo and master, i've had a lot of hassle with this as the Ph1 9 Turbo has a different master to pretty much any other 9 or 11 model. I've made do with the closest match but its bugging me. You can see here the cylinder rotation is off. The res fittings are supposed to be vertical. This is the cylinder for the right p/n but its not right. I also had to use the rubber plugs off the old cylinder for the remote res pipes as the ones in it were for a direct plug-in reservoir.

I also bought a new reservoir, that didnt fit either!

It's not like I didnt put the effort in to research either, I literally got hold of original R9 Microfiches and a reader to look at parts diagrams!

So....do I try and make the new master work, hold out and try and find the right master somehow, or, try and refurb the original master?

Does it have a funny bolt pattern on the pedal box side of the servo then? I would have thought you'd want a new servo as well?

Why not just stick a new clio servo and m/c on it then?
Because then I have to get into the hassle of finding the right servo with a rod that fits my pedal and the right rotation on the MC studs, and also I have to have a 4-port master or I then have to feck about with the rear bias valve which has 2 inputs from the front. I might have a look at some R19 ones, they're basically the same car underneath. Don't spose you have a 19 setup to have do you?

Is it on drums at the back ? , put the wrong one on An early 11 years back an couldn’t get a pedal , that was odd and came from France in the end

Well I obviously still have the turboshed's pedal box here but it's been modified for the RX4 hydraulic stuff so not much use. There are a few photos of it in its unmodified form in my turboshed project report

knowing that the 19 was effectively a development of the 9/11 chassis and looking at the shape of the pedal box bulkhead plate in your photos it wouldn't shock me if a 19 one fitted straight in. I did actually reproduce the shape of bulkhead plate in CAD at the time, I can dig that out, whack some dimensions on it and post it up if you wanted to check.

I don't think you even need a bias valve with drums on the back?
