Clio oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

Thanks @Adey . It does answer some questions. I am not an advocate of all this technology, more to break.... The more Torque you have means the less gears you need . Your Clio is making as much torque as the best Ferrari 3 litre v10 F1 engine did, thing is it had nothing below 8-9000 rpm , so it needed 7 gears to keep it buzzing between 40 and 200 mph. If it were a breathless Atmo it would need 6 gears, as it is it probably needs no more than 4. Having all those gears will make it feel quick , but I would bet it would be even quicker with less, but longer gears. More time on throttle and less off changing gear. It will be at it's best in the middle of it's rev range in a high gear, where It will speed up the scenery effortlessly...
I suppose with the clutch it will be a case of getting a bit more clamping load from the diaphragm to cope, the original having covered that mileage will be well past it's peak clamping force. I would also suppose cerametallic will be off the menu due to the shock load it would put on the box, so good organic linings will be the only choice. it will be a small change in the fulcrum point needed to get a fair increased clamping load for a much smaller increase in release pressure.
You would get bored having absolutely nothing to do....................

Full throttle yes, Full power no, 300 lbs/ft would rip the clutch apart in no time, the traction control will effectively only deliver enough torque until its all settled then ramp it up. It's real clever how the controls let it function so seamlessly, if it were full manual control it would be pretty undriveable and likely broken inside half an hour.
Thanks for the invitation. You just never know...............

Not too much to update here. I've swapped out the 20mm front spacers for 16mm eibach items. Makes the front track match the rear a bit better rather than having the wheels pushed out so much. Also it feels slightly lighter and nimble, could be in my head though.

I've also received a powerflex dogbone mount that i need to get around to fitting. Im sure with just over 100k on the clock the mounts will be showing their age, so this should tighten things up a touch (y)

Just bought one of these for the megane 👀

So the clutch side of things has now changed...... 😡 The original quotation given by Ktec was £1500 inc vat (bearing in mind a new clutch supplied and fitted elsewhere was around 2k, with it being a refurb instead of new it seemed about right price wise) that was complete removal of the gearbox, including relining/refurbishment my old clutch packs and then refitting and all fluids. Not bad and saved me doing it myself on the drive.

Any way I was told mid Jan there was a 10 day wait on the "service exchange" unit coming back from helix. I chase them up as I hadn't heard back. I got a reply on Friday.....

They made a mistake and now the cost was £3590!!!! not even sure if that includes the labour either. Stock new clutches are only 1300ish and the original price still listed on their website to refurbish the plates is £599.

Ill probably end up doing it in the future myself and ill go direct to helix or similar to cut out the KTax.

I do like ktec as they do a lot for the Renault scene but they do fuck stuff up sometimes, The price however is a joke. Struggled finding the downpipe/front pipe gasket for my megane and contacted ktec about it, gave me a part No but said would take 2-3weeks from Renault. Rang up my local dealership and they had them in stock and was £10 cheaper

Yeah they need to make money too I guess, had similar. They quoted me £78 for a rear main seal, the part is about £11 direct from the dealer

They would be getting told to stick it at that price. Pmt it lad.
oh dont you worry they have been told. 140% increase on quote, no thank you.

Tbh, 95% of people that drove it wouldn't notice the issue. But I know its there so will sort it at some point. I only really notice it above 100/110 mph in 5th gear and even then its intermittent.
