21 Turbo North east 21 turbo

Hello,
Had a few 21 turbos when I was in my early twenties, now 43 I have decided to treat myself to another 1, could any one let me know if there is any one in the North east who specialises in working on them.

Garage wise, official business, nobody that i'd recommend.

@Haz is pretty good, and more local than me, plus you don't want to be waiting for me to do anything on it as I have about a years worth of 21 work queued up already

The car I bought has been standing a while and just needs some one to give it a once over and a full service - coolant flush - oil filter - oil change etc if any one can help - I am hopeless mechanically

if its been standing, you will want to be doing the cam belt and once over on the brakes as well

Scotts bank motors in Southwick, fella, I've used before to do the basics on a few of my cars over the years - I doubt they have much experience in 21's but if you ask them to run through an MOT on the car that should identify any problems...mainly rust to watch out for!

Where in the north east are you? I can recommend a couple good mechanics in Durham area who are knowledgeable and reasonable?

Scotts bank have been good every time I've been there but the main guy is ex-Volvo rather than Renault, so maybe not as familiar with a 21 as someone like @Haz

A one-man-band guy I use now in Peterlee is Phil Sutton, unit is in the South West Industrial Estate if the OP wants to venture south on the A19. Again not a Renault man but good guy for the basics & always been honest with me

Thanks lads for all of the advice - the cam belt was apparently done at 144000miles along with a service that was 3 years ago and it has only done approx 2000miles in that time so been used but only now and then
