...and skim the heads off stray ants on the road if it was any lower than std, surely?!

Yeah not sure i'd want to lower mine!

If you want it stiffer pump the tyres up harder!

Peter :D

Peter - you of all people should be interested in this (road-going cup racer?!) ;)

Lowering the car isn't the main factor, but I think you could lower it around 20mm without too many problems - unless you live a road with steep speedbumps. My mk1 used to have the trophy splitter, which lowered the front by about 2-3cm and even then I didn't have any problems with normal driving. It isn't like the V6 is stupidly low as standard, even if it looks it.

Firming up the ride would be great for those who like the odd trackday or B-road blast and want to feel a bit more 'connected'. It needn't be rock-solid, just firmer.

How about creating a poll with all the options people want and only people who are interested in a group buy should vote? :)

I've got a new idea for a group buy:

Different springs -

-> 20mm lower

-> A bit stiffer

-> Perhaps progressively sprung to reduce body-roll in faster corners

Eibach would be the obvious choice since they made the originals. H&R make great stuff...even Apex isn't bad.

We could fit springs ourselves (cheap!) and it would make the car look even more aggressive whilst sharpening up the handling.

I know I have coilovers but I agree with this springs idea. Anything that makes the Vee a little bit more planted would be a worthwhile investment.

OK guys gimme ALL the choices then we'll have a poll to decide once and for all! :D

Here are some ideas:

a)Custom ECU remap
b)Uprated springs (stiffer and/or lower)
c)Manifolds
d)Decat Pipes
e)Custom collector box bypass pipes
f)Uprated Clutch
g)Faster steering rack
h)Armourfend stonechip protection.
i)Recaro (or similar) buckets
j)6th gear synchromesh?

Cheers
Peter :D

Can you supply seeds to grow the money tree I'll need to finance some/all of that little lot?! :D

C'mon guys....

Then I'll pop a poll on here and we can decide where we want to focus our investigations, and to see what we can save! :money:

Drilled discs would be nice......and brembos from the 197 if they would fit or an equivalent!

Why would they be any better than the AP Racing calipers we've got?

DS2500's for pads would be my choice.

The AP Racing calipers look like shite.......just like any other clio calipers.

Driled discs would be my choice.

Ok with a few more added:

a)Custom ECU remap
b)Uprated springs (stiffer and/or lower)
c)Manifolds
d)Decat Pipes
e)Custom collector box bypass pipes
f)Uprated Clutch
g)Faster steering rack
h)Recaro (or similar) buckets
i)New/Spare set of tyres.
j)Xenons for Mk1 owners
k)Uprated brake discs
l)Brake Pads
m) New Brake Calipers

I think that may be enough to be thinking about!
