Custom ECU remap sound like the best option then.

Lets get some names! C'mon guys get your name down as interested. Pls note this is only interested pending details costs etc etc. There will be no firm comitments at this stage. Just getting an idea of numbers to use when bargaining with suppliers. :twisted:

Cheers

Whats the difference between a full custom Remap & a remapped chip-
Id read in another thread a custom remap was 4k???? :o
Dont matter how much of a discount I get I doubt I could shell out that much...???? :o

HELP!!!!!

Custom remap uses the stock Ecu and the other one uses a non standard ecu.

A remap would probably cost between 300-700.

Seperate threads for each group buy me thinks so as not to confuse anyone!

1/Trophy coils and connectors
2/Remap
3/HID conversion (MK1 owners)

Guys we have already heard from JohnsV6 that the coils group buy is a non-starter. I can understand that as on such smaller items there will be lower margin hence less discount to have a worthwhile group buy. Of course if anyone has better info i'd be interested to hear it.

I believe Tim already has the lights inhand for the mk1 owners so there is no need to discuss it further here. That'll be a seperate thread.

So we have manifolds and custom remaps (not new ECU loom etc, just a new map in existing kit). We need to get an idea on prices and also need to check vendors. Then we can make a final decision on which to do or maybe even both.

Please post your preferances / suggestions here. Also please any vendors you want me to contact for prices.

Cheers
Peter

What about CAT by-pass pipes? I sort of remember these being a special and surely they release a bit of power.

James has had a load of work done to his recently! Whenever he is in a posityion to report on what he has had done and the actual increases in power/torque/accekearation etc then I think would be a good time to decide the next stage! But definately somehting like intake manifolds/enlarged plenum/De Cats etc would be very beneficial. Only thing is they are all quite specialised work as opposed to just buying a zorst and fixing it on yourself?

The remap is still a good option but would it be better to do this last after everyone has gone has far as they want to with their vee+

I have a feeling the work on mine would be slightly more that a few hundred quid group buy item.

I would suggest anyone contacts Andy at GDI if they are interested in this.

Andy doesn't seem to want to give out any details.....maybe you can talk to him and see if its ok for him to issue a step by step process to those privately who really are interested!

Like me....

By the way apologies for running this a little slowly I'm also trying to sort me bleedin gearbox out too.... :wink:

I've got a new idea for a group buy:

Different springs -

-> 20mm lower

-> A bit stiffer

-> Perhaps progressively sprung to reduce body-roll in faster corners

Eibach would be the obvious choice since they made the originals. H&R make great stuff...even Apex isn't bad.

We could fit springs ourselves (cheap!) and it would make the car look even more aggressive whilst sharpening up the handling.
