new exhaust

I have my Mk1 Vee booked in with Charlie @ Prospeed Exhausts on Tuesday, cant wait for that

Would like to have your views on what kind of silencing levels I should ask for?

Is it possible to replicate the sound of the old but wonderful MG Metro 6R4?

The car is quiet with the standard system on and im fed up of it looking rusty and letting the looks of the car down

Any comments greatly appreciated

What kind of note/noise do the KTEC/Janspeed/Quicksilver exhausts make, is it a similar 'bark' to the 6R4?

Ive yet to see/hear a vee with a non-standard exhaust apart from pictures on this website and a picture of a mk2 vee on the ramps at prospeed.

Ive got a 'midsport note' system and decat from Prospeed on my 172 cup which is quite loud, that doesnt bother me, what can I expect from the v6?

I would love my vee to sound like a 6R4 as there great!!
The omg on mine is very good and is quite loud at 3000-4000rpm, sounds superb over this but doesnt have the raw noise of the 6R4.
I think you would have to lose the cats to get near to it.
Let me know if you get close to the 6R4 sound and I will have mine done.

If you want bark. what about a non silenced system. Sorry if the drawings are ruff.

a lot of places do custom stainless steel exhausts and this looks quite easy to fabricate.

As you can see the dark lines i have put on the pictures are were the pipes would be and the silencer would not be there at all.

I guess this would be very loud. :wink:

Got back home at 60 last night after visiting Charlie @ Prospeed, took him all day to build/craft the new exhaust........

What a work of art the new exhaust is, half the weight of the renault mild steel backbox, new 3" slash cut tailpipes and no more rust!!

I watched him finish off welding the brackets and then he fired her up . . . .

The vee sounds like thunder when the throttle is blipped and she now pops and bangs on the over run, well pleased

The car is loud and raw at low revs but is bearable above 4000rpm

Coming out of Cardiff in rush hour was a treat, booting her off each set of traffic lights left a huge smile on my face and looks of amazement from passers by!! Once on the M4 and above 50mph there is no exhaust boom or drone.

I would defo recomend Charlie and the boys if you wanted a custom backbox/system and at £490 for the backbox fitted, I dont think you can go wrong?

Im saving up for the the cat bypass and manifolds from Prospeed, cant wait.

I will try and get some pics up on the website.
