New exhaust advice

Hi bored with the lack of sound from my vee I haven't had for long.I'm looking to change the rear box and I'm not far from prospeed in Cardiff .Has anybody used prospeed as I know Charlie has a great reputation. What does everyone recommend sound wise without being boomy from inside .

Thanks Al

The Spike Janspeed exhaust is a very popular one amongst many. I got one recently to replace a quicksilver sport back box, which was much boomier and I'm really happy with it.

You looking just for a back box or a full system?

I bought Clarkee's QS, and would agree it does have an inherent boominess at low revs, but I wanted something loud, so love it.

As with all these things, it's personal taste, but the praise for the Spike is universal.

Glad you like it :approve:

I really enjoyed it while I had it. Wasn't bad at all. Just a bit boomy on long journeys. Lovely sound when you open it up :race:

Cheers Phil, I asked Scott lots of questions before buying, so I went in with my eyes open. His assessment was bang on.

The boominess seems to be at low revs tbh, and on the motorway I tend to cruise at "high-ish" speeds where it tends to subside. In town it is a bit nuts, can't imagine how loud the OMG must be!

Glad you're enjoying the Spike.

Al - are you going to any of the events this year; may be worth having a listen to a few of the cars?

Jit

On another note are we aware of anyone selling anything from the block to the link pipe yet? Janspeed wont make manifolds to match Spikes.

Back box mentioned by recoverysolutions.

To summarise:

For aural heaven - look no further than Viper/BMC plus Spike.

Quicksilver for a quality hardcore look and a proper noisy experience.

Live the dream and acquire an Orbisoud system - the firm who supplied the V6 Trophy racers. Not for the faint hearted.

Customise the whole caboodle with aftermarket induction, high-lift cams, piggy-back ecu and Torque techniques zorst. The sound is immense - and so will the cost implications.

The best of both worlds is: keep it standard and acquire a V6 Trophy racer. This is where the smart money is pitched.

I had Charlie at ProSpeed fit my manifold and make a sport cat for me when I took my Mini GP in. Good guys and I would have them make me a custom exhaust if I hadn't already bought a Milltek for the GP.

Any clips of the new sounding exhaust yet Ads?
