My spare was black, although not very shiny
Got back from france in the TL last night. It is made for the motorway! The gears are so long that it easily cruises at 80mph.
I got 43mpg on an 80mph cruise. And it averaged around that for about 1900miles. Very happy, as the only reliability problem was the alternator - despite really heavy traffic around Paris in 28 degrees heat. Although the clutch is now a bit tired.
The car now reads over 41,000 miles.
I only saw 4 other mk1 R5's for the whole time I was in France. Mine didnt get much attention (to be expected really), although I would find some old chaps hovering around it most times I left it in a car park.
I did find a fairly ratty TS (the first I have ever seen on the road). It was in poor condition, but just had a new exhaust on it. My girlfriend thought i was pretty sad after taking a picture underneath!!!!!
And a picture of mine:
And some pictures from the car show I went to....
I parked with the other Renaults:
Ratty GT Turbo:
Not sure what Renault van this was. Stunning condition...
