Well over a year has passed without progress. Been far too busy with other stuff, but this winter it has to happen, been ,making steady progress over the last few weeks, compiled a list of parts i need and started ordering stuff in.
Engine bay isn’t far off ready for the body shop, there were so many layers of paint it was decided to take it back to bare metal
front metal brake pipes are still like new after 35 years apart from being painted over , so cleaned them up, hamerite green and gold, and are good to go back on.
Nice progress. Did you check in what condition the felt inside the brake booster was? Mine was disintegrated and almost like powder so I replaced it with a cymbal felt.
Decided to ditch the blue hoses from back in the day and go for a black engine bay, after reading about the horror stories of the china hoses, i decided to get a set from Jonathan Smith on Facebook who gets them made in this country, quality seems decent tbf.
Collecting parts, little haul from CGB, braided brake hoses to replace my originals that i can’t really find anything wrong with but thought it’s about time for an upgrade
I’ve been sourcing some parts through my local parts supplier, he came up trumps with a Q&H water pump. i asked if there were 2 available but he could only source one
