19 My R19 Ph2

Core , that sounds like a lot of fun for your TUV certificate !

Well it is alot of fun...
A mistake happened when the car was imported and they didnt write the engine type correctly... that's what started this mess
They wrote 2 letters in the wrong order
So to confirm all the papers and everything could take another few weeks untill I get her on the streets...

Okay after one and a half year since I owned the cabbie there was a problem that the car wasn't running as it should, so we went through all procedures of repairing it and it still didn't solve the problem untill 3 days ago
I was talking with my brother what I should swap and he suggested new spark plug cables
So I went to buy new ones and after a day of a bit chilling and driving around I arrived home to swap them
Swapping the first 3 cables was easy untill I got to the 4th one and there was the reason of my struggle and the cars... on the distributor one plug was broken off and to no suprise (well for what I saw before) it was a glue attempt from the previous owner..

After going to my local car part dealer I bought a new distributor and the rotor that is inside for 23€ and it made me scratch my head
Why would you go through the trouble of gluing the thing together if its so cheap... sure improvising the clutch would be understandable (even tho 130 isnt that much again) but this meh... the previous owner told me about 3 weeks ago he bought a mazda mx-5 the old one with pop up lights to re new it, but seeing what he did to this poor r19 I wouldn't even trust him with a model kit car :/
Anyways she is back to her normal state goes like it should its calm running of the engine is back :) happy ending but not yet done :)

Small update been driving with my winter car for a while because my 19 isn't drivable the clutch wire snapped again (4th time now) and my patience with it as well
So since I don't have enough space at home I left it by my mechanic to take the whole clutch out and replace it with another one so I can see if there will be any difference
On the other way I bought new alloys for the cabbie, I digged this ones but I found those that I wanted to have for my final product when the car is finished
Alloy info ATS Cup 15x7 4x100 et28

I'm picking them up on Monday hopefully, its a set of 5 alloys which 3 were renewed and 2 more just need to be painted with the clear paint but are polished and finished except that

So after a month of b*shit and arguing I finally got her back as it should be, my previous mechanic lied to me that he actually swapped the whole clutch and that was the main reason why the car ripped so many clutch wires

After that I decided that only if it was something really serious I'd take her to any mechanic so now I'll learn to swap and repair it myself by the books and guides

So its been a while since my last post and sure alot happaned in between...
The car is now in a garage resting in pieces due to obtaining all ph1 16v body parts to fully convert it...
After i went to a few meetings and driving for a while i had an accident with the car, the hood opened during a hiway drive by 120km/h which is about 74.5mph
The hood is totaled as well as the window and the car antenna on the arch was pushed for about 3mm down... Still no other harm was done still a sad result tbh
After that the engine started to consume small amounts of oil and the car started to smoke blue from the exhaust(when you start driving) so i decided to renew the head of the engine after new year... Allready got all the parts assembled for it...
So after it stood 3 weeks in the garage i decided to take of the bumper hood left and right wing since i have a 16v one ready and the wings so i dont need to be careful while removing the head of the engine...
My project came to a halt for a while because my father passed away a month ago and there are more important things than the car for a while
Atm the poor thing looks like ready for the dump all stripped and not even starting since the starter died off because of the clutch incident and i started it without it...
Also need to look for a new transmission because the 1st 2nd and 3th gear are scraping...

Poor thing :(

Soo after 1 year we started my brothers R19 Ph1 1.4 Energy Year 1989
It started without issues in 2nd attempt the engine still has life in it and would probably run smoothly if basics would be swapped, not to mention in the 2 years that it was standing it was only started twice on the same battery that is still sitting in the car de attached...
We asked around if anyone would like to have the engine for a small fee since it barely has 104.000km still runs after sitting there for 2 years but sadly nobody was interested.. So this summer the poor thing will be scrapped due to my brother getting a mint condition in the country he moved to...
Her journey wasnt long in kilometers or owners (2nd owner)
