My Phase 1 V6 with Recaro Pole Position fitted.

Will

New Member
I cleaned my car last weekend and headed up on to Exmoor for a few pictures now that I have fitted a set of Recaro Pole Position seats with custom lower side mounts. The new driving position makes a huge positive difference to the way car feels to drive, they also offer much more support and as such are far more comfortable than the standard seats on long journey's.

A few pictures from up on the moor first, followed by two pictures of the interior I took down in Lynmouth. The long term plan is to have the seats re-trimmed to better match the Phase 1 interior but that will be a job for next year I think.
Also the big TWR sticker on the rear window may divide opinion but it is an original TWR sticker produced for them about 15 years or so ago that I found on eBay and thought I would put on the car for a few local car shows this summer, after that it will likely be removed.

Great looking car Will, and lovely pictures. Nothing wrong with the TWR acknowledgement in my book...they were the unsung heroes in the creation of the Clio V6!

I've always admired your car Will and the work you do on it. The seats on those lower subframes work a treat and the wheel just finished it off. Lovely car, lovely pics! :approve:

Stunning pics!
I particularly like #1 and #2 - look like they're straight from a magazine.

Thank you very much, those pictures were actually taken a few miles from where EVO did their Ariel Nomad review in last month's magazine.

Thanks, when I saw the stickers for sale I thought it would be a nice little nod to the history of the V6, plus another TWR creation and one of my dream cars the Jaguar XJ220S has a similarly sized TWR sticker on it (but on the windscreen instead).

Love those seats! :approve:

Thanks, I spent a long time thinking about whether to buy a set or not, but I am so glad I did.

Thanks Shaun, that means a lot. The sub frames that JonnyC had made are great and I have fitted some pretensioner covers since you saw them in person.

Great shots. Worthy of next years calendar.

Thanks Ali, I might send some of the original larger images over to Ed should they decide to make a calendar for next year.

Wonderfully framed and photos of the Vee as always Will!

This remind me that I should take more of my Phase 1 as well.

My XJR-s has the same, smaller sticker on the back screen. These cars were made at TWR's factory in Kiddlington from 1988 - 1990 to celebrate Jag's win at Le-Mans, a couple of years before the XJ220 was made at Bloxham, but most folks think they are just another XJS.

Perhaps we need a subtle sticker combining the Renault Sport logo and the TWR logo for the Clio V6!

Lovely phase 1 indeed, very envious.

Would love to see more of that Jag too, please. An XJS has always been on my tick sheet, and something a bit special like that looks so interesting.

Car looks great and so do the new seats. Scenery Isn't too bad either!

Thanks, the scenery around here is great. You can be down at sea level in one of the coastal villages, and then within a few minutes you can be up on the moor with barely anyone else around. I keep thinking about trying to organise something along the lines of the Lake District meet but down here instead.

Thanks Billy, it would be great to see some more pictures of your Vee. The bright lights of Hong Kong at night would be an amazing backdrop.
