My new Vee

I'm confused, is it recorded or not ??

Is the current seller aware of the previous damage to it ??

Well all the Insurance checks i've done 'DON'T' show it as a CAT D

See example...

I don't know if the previous owner knows it had a smash or not i'm going to ask though.

I've been told it was insurance repaired so i'm guessing it can't be CAT D?

I've done other checks since and again all show as not being CAT D. I've used the same programs before and they've show'd CAT D's so I know they do give the correct info.

AFAIK ...

It won't be a CAT D unless it has been written off 'total loss' and resold as salvage. The category defines the severity of damage. This is relevant to anyone planning to repair a 'damaged repairable' vehicle. Once the vehicle is repaired and re-inspected or MOT'd (depending on the category) - then it will be recorded with the relevant category for future buyers/owners.

If it has been repaired by the insurer then it will not show as being repaired on HPI checks.

Likewise if the damage was serious but the insurance company weren't involved, again there would be no record ...

it just goes to show the wealth of knowledge and friendly people on this site

after Acids comments and pics..id happily buy that car for the price,

excellent write up of the cars history there :):)

I bought the car, it's outside now and what can I say!!!

Sweet F.A!

The roads were flooded, the rain was pouring! worst 110 mile journey home, was lucky if I could see the road let alone spare a moment enjoying the Vee :(

Roll on the sun when I can drive the car properly.

(Although I did have fun going through Dartford Tunnel :))

The owner claims he didn't know about the crash, he seemed pretty honest enough but after Steve's comments and speaking to Mark and knowing it's not a CAT D i'm happy with the price and at under £9k I can't complain

The way these things were built at the factory I'd be looking for a car built by Mark!!!

That sums things up in 1-

Enjoy the ride Andy-

Have a great one....
