Will put pics up when the weather is nice.

Paid £9300.

It's a 2002 Reg, Silver V6

2 Previous Owners last one being for 3 years, 34,000 miles, FSH, huge book of all the history and bits and bobs.

12 months Tax, 6 months MOT

Only mod is a custom exhaust which is 2 racing cans out the back bumper side parts at a 45 degree angle and where the existing exhaust comes through a replica panel has been made without holes.

Did the autochecks for HPI, previous damage, etc, no recorded crashes, no visible damage, other than a stone has hit below the headlight and left a 2p bit of paint missing :(

Car was in Maidstone, guy who owned it was nice enough bloke but seemed the sort to like to hang around car parks.

First change for me apart from the rear lights to the Mk2 lights is to remove the large amounts of stickers.

well done mate,i was going to view this one also but bought the 2nd car i went to see.....looked good in the pics he sent me of it....apart from the stickers as u mention......sounds like u got a bargain......

seems to be alot of v6s being bought at the minute.....

good luck with it buddy.... :D

I hope the registration plate isnt VN52 MXP :s
I PUT IT THROUGH A HEDGE SIDEWAYS-

I sold it to a bloke in Maidstone who did the whole 45 degree angle out of the exhaust-

When was this?

It is the car in question but nothing showed up on insurance checks? as ever having a 'reported' crash. And it stated he owned the car for 3 years.

Is it a stay clear off as i'm due to pay the final £9000 tonight at 7pm.

Pics of the damage would be good I looked at the panels and they all looked alined bar the bonnet slightly out on the left by prob less than a 1mm.

Which owner would you have been?

Registered 13/11/2002

Owner 1.) 14/02/2003
Owner 2.) 12/07/2003 (had done 3,000 miles at this point)
Owner 3.) 19/08/2004

So the previous owner has had it 3 years and no it's on 34,000 miles.

I drove the car and it didn't seem to do anything un-usual ie. steering wise.

Hi Mate- Ive stayed up late to do this message so you can have a think & people can comment during Friday-

Sorry to burst your bubble there- As soon as you said Maidstone & 45 degree angle exhaust I knew you meant my old car-

I was the second owner- I bought it from t'up North-
I sold it to a guy in maidstone for around 17.5k-

About a year & a half ago- perhaps a little longer I saw it up for sale on flea bay- looked quite taccy compared with how I had sold it- although I cant understand why it doesnt appear as cat D???

Here it is as was sold- 19/08/04 approx-

As you can see pretty mint condition- especially when you look at the front-
http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs315&d=07195&f=vn523.JPG

Why is the exhaust so Shiney???-
Because when it back on the car- after the performance one cracked I sat on the floor & polished it before I went back on-....

What can I say Andy- I really dont want to upset the apple cart but I fell you have a right to know-

I spun this car & went backwards up a curb & into someones garden-
2 alloys & tyres were knackered, The air bag ( Drivers went off,) quite a few panels were knackered-
Front bumper & bonnet, Rear Bumper & a couple of wings-
Also one side pod got stuck in the hedge & got ripped off

As well as all that the suspension needed sorting-
Infact I think barring the roof everything was changed on the outside of the car-

Thats the bad news..............

The good news is I didnt let the dopey insurance company take it to a second rate bodge it & scarper place-

I drove it ( VERY slowly) over to harlow to Mark fish who had the car for the best part of 3 months-
If you dont know mark he is a first class engineer who raced the Mk1 trophey versions of the vee & could probably rebuild one in his sleep-

So- After 2 months the car was reluctantly ( by the insurance company) repaired & when I got it back off Mark it was as good as knew-
If it had been repaired by ANYONE else I would put it up for sale the next day- but I kept it because it was in PRISTINE condition-
The engine hadnt been changed- but you think-
All new shell- with TWR parts- New spray, New seats- .....

I then got flashed on the A127 for doing 115 MPH- & that was the point I decided to sell her- I thought I was going to get banned

http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs315&d=07195&f=vin.jpg

See the pic & the writing on the top right 115..... Ive saved that as a reminder not to speed anymore...

Anyway- the most important thing is you know this car has had a heavy impact before- the thing is it may well have been as good as new once it came out of Marks workshop......

Its up to you- it depends if it will play on your mind- If it will get your money back asap- If it wont & you have faith in a repair ( I would it marks) then buy it

SORRY

Steve
PS I have no pics of the damage of the vehicle - I threw them away just a short while ago- although Mark fish has every invoice etc dating back to BC probably- he would if he is allowed give the repair bill for the car- ( I paid 250 excess)

His phone number is- 01279431628

Andy,
After reading the above dont be disheartened. I too bought a car in similar circumstances, (although I knew its history when buying it) It too was rebuilt by Mark and in nearly 2 years of ownership it has not given a moments trouble, won several prizes, appeared in 2 top level magazines and if the EVO review is anything to go by, came out of Mark Fish's a better car than when new.
Mine was a cat D and will always have that tag when time comes to sell. The moral is if you want a car to keep a fair time, and it will probably change your life, then stick with it, enjoy it and dont worry about it. If you want to sell it on soon and maybe make some money, forget it.

Check tyres carefully, if even tread all should be O.K.

Fronts tend to wear on the inside.

If all O.K. purchase.

Seems to have had a good repair carried out.

:) :P) :) :)

In my old ZR I had a situation where I was driving home and a group of drunk lads decided to chuck an alloy wheel and a concrete block at the car.

It was also wet so the roads were greasy.

I hit this prob 4ft by 4ft square on and it took the bumper out and cracked both the drivers sides wheels, killed the suspension completly everything was bent on the right side of the car.

Had it repaired properly and it came back as good as new.

I've no doubts it's always nicer to have an 'perferct car' so to speak, but I also know that if done correctly a car can be repaired to as good as new status.

For the price I understand why now, however I'm going to try and see if I can now get this for nearer £8,500 before making a final decision.

Was there any chassis damage, thats what concerns me the most, if so was it jigged all correctly.

But as stated I drove the car and it went straight etc, fine and this guys obviously got faith as he's had it 3 years and takes his kid out in it.

Wanted to do a seperate message just to say thanks AcidV6 yes I was gutted to read that but i'd much rather know to a certain extent should I buy it and issues occur i'll prob know why.

Thanks for taking time to summarise it all even though it wasn't really what I wanted to hear.

What a top man that Mark is!

So helpful. He even offered to come with me to check the car over, etc.

He said from when it left the workshop I'd have nothing to worry about but he can't say how it is no obviously as 3 years has passed.

Anyway depending on whether I can knock another £800 off the car from what i've seen i'd still go for it then i'll take it to Mark to do a full assesment for peace of mind.

Didn't realise that if someone side impacted you a little to replace all the side panels is £6000+VAT+Fitting+Spraying.

No wonder they get CAT'd so easily with prices like that.

He also stated that the car in question was 95% superficial ie. mechancially it was sound and only the suspension need minor work.

He said it was a 'look much worse' than it is and that as the insurance was forking out the cash no expense was spared on using all the correct parts etc.

Certainly put my mind at rest with regards to that issue.

Ok cheers, will give them a good check over.

It was the rear that took the whack but will check all.

The fact it drives straight is pleasing though :) hopefully his tyre pressures are correct as that'll make things more confusing, Its:-

to much pressure = mid worn more than edges
to little pressue = outer edges worn more than mid

Isn't it? But obviously if it's just one edge (inside/outside) I will know something isn't correct.

No worries-

Im glad you have spoken to Mark- & i obviously concur with what Eastlmark Says-
The repair was as good as new & you should have many years of trouble free motoring from the car-

Best of luck-
Cheers
Steve
