5 GT Turbo My C1J Forged build

Can't get this relay coil/rev counter thing working.... when you take the switchgear out of the relay do you need to bridge or replace anything? I've hooked it up as per the diagram and nothing. The coil is energising cos when I tried an unmodded relay when I pulsed the ign3 output it activated the relay so that part checks out. Just getting nowt on the rev counter itself.

Does your relay have a resistor or diode originally across the coil? You need to remove them if it does
Doesn't look like it but I'll check.
The third pin out of the transistor, that splits into two right? One goes to the rev counter, one to pin 86 of the relay coil, then out of pin 85 of the relay coil to +12v?
The other two transistor pins are earth and ecu signal with a 1k resistor in line?

So this happened

Wire cut out the screen without cracking it, shame about the tin worm in the corners and on the curved edge going thin tho.

Weighing up options of repairing what I have or replacing it.

If anyone knows of a scuttle panel in mint condition pm me a price or if anyone knows of new panels hiding away

It's a shame, luckily we can cut out the rotten bit and not effect the corner curves too much, as rebuilding curves doesn't look much fun

It's still here

I took the windscreen out to fix a little bubbles in the lower corners..... needless to say it escalated from 2 bits into long sections and remaking corners

I was planning on getting done before it needs mot but enthusiasm is low.

Buying a cheap trade in didn't help, but I couldn't turn away a cheap Quattro sport Audi TT and that's being tickling my fun needs for a bit

Potentially have to sell this for a house fund, currently doing everything I can think to not sell it.

Might have to sell the nitrous kit tho since it's still unused

Bit of a lame update as no pictures.

As can be I have completely lost interest in the car with everything else going on I can't say if I've just been depressed or stressed but I've not been myself.

Brother came over yesterday afternoon and finished the welding the scuttle panel.
He's started to skim a little filler over the drivers side and coming over to do more to the passenger side.

I can't thank him enough with what he's done.

I'm away on holiday from tomorrow for a week so it's like a little car sos going on.

Hopefully come home Friday to a car ready to paint or has been painted and ready for me to put the windscreen back in, either way I'm kinda excited.

I've made a decision to put him on the insurance if it doesn't raise it much, he's literally done all the bodywork and some welding since I brought it back on 2010, but he never has been rewarded properly for what he does other than currys etc.

Plus if he is driving it people can't tell me to sell it [emoji108][emoji23]

Today is paint day [emoji108]

Brother made a little homemade booth to try stop any crap in the paint, little bit different to having his lorry booths but he says it'll do and I trust him with paint.

We also kept paint from when it was done back in 2010 and it's still good, luckily as it's not just white and has a blue tint to it, think brother said it's a ford cosworth white

It runs turn over a while whilst fuel built up but started pretty damn good for a motor not run for nearly a year

Had to order a new siren for the Clifford as I've already put 1 replacement battery in it, and both remotes won't program in as I don't have any chirps due to a flat battery in the siren [emoji58]

No doubt I'll have to dig out the Cliffnet cable too if I can find it lol

Windscreen is fitted.

Bit of a faff tho.

Those "rejel kits"
New inner seal fits fine.
The new outer seal and plastic retainer well, the outer seal is so small width wise, then you can faff with plastic but which pushes on the glass which the outer bit pushes into..... looked horrible to do.

But I thought nah not even doing that faffing.

as I had a wide outer seal before that fitted fine and looked good so I ordered new seal....yup a 30m reel more [emoji58] anyone want any?

So new inner seal, 30m of 21mm wide seal, some sealer and tape later the job was complete.

Mot and back on the road it goes.

Pulling the ebc valve off and throttle position off the carb, as it causes it to throttle stick for some reason maybe too much weight on the throttle shaft or carb freeze I can remember which I thought it was last year.

The carb handles the ball n spring mbc better I think, I'll keep the fancy bits if it goes efi tho.

I'm on the look out for an efi manifold if anyone see's one.

I've had enough with the carb, it's fuelling fine most of the time, but when coming on the throttle after being on overrun for a while after a full throttle run, the car will splutter to 15+ afr then clear itself when pressing a bit more pedal.

Yet when cruising in 4/5th and pressing the pedal the car enriches perfect with no splutter or anything.

If it's not carb related I'm going to start considering ditching the megasquirt off or rebuilding a new one just incase it's that being a dick
