Movies

Predators was ok, the last one where they were sent to that planet. The one with Adrien Brody and Lawrence Fishbourne

He was ok in The Davinci Code and Priest was ok.

i have not seen either of those actually, lawrence fishbourne is a pretty cool customer, he often seems to be compared with sam jackson but to be honest i find him more tolerable than jackson as i have not had him rammed town my throat for the last 20 years, enough of sam jackson, that being said he has been in some great films

acid house finished it was pish.

Fishburne has done loads of good films.

A really good one few have seen is Deep Cover, well worth a watch has jeff Goldbloom as well so wins for quirkiness

yeah deep cover was an awesome film, loved it, he was in king of new york too, i think he is quite under rated as an actor, even rocked in boyz n the hood too, off hand i can only think of one movie franchise he was involved in that i think was absolutely dreadful, have a guess, here's a clue

ToyotaMatrixindex.jpg

As Furious in Boyz in the hood he was awesome.

Good in King of New York as was Wesley Snipes and David Caruso.

The Matrix sadly has aged terribly and after the 1st film went to crap. I knew the car as I'm on some american forums.

He is pretty good in CSI actually. Took over from Grissom quite welI think.

he certainly did, i like the character theyve given him cos he's finding his feet too which makes him easy to warm to. yeah boyz in the hood was amazing, you hear about the guy who did boyz in the hood wanting to do a movie about nwa, i think id watch that

John Singleton? He was 23 when he done boys in the hood.

Poetic Justice and Baby Boy were ok films he done as well.

Since we are on a black thing. Tupac done some good stuff, Juice, Poetic Justice as mentioned, Gridlock'd and gang related are pretty good.

really? only 23, thats nuts, i can get on board with your tupac statement with the exception of poetic justice, i found that one a bit boring, i think he prob would have gone on to do some crackers had he not been jobbed out, quite sad really, total waste, that being said i dont think he was a very good man

poetic justice amuses me as Janet Jackson wanted him to have an aids test

But yeah thinking about it, it does drag on a bit and a bit crap actually.

Wild Hogs, yes I'm behind the times, watched it the other night. Was ok for a silly movie. Wouldn't watch it again though.

6/10

Black Dynamite.

A pisstake of the 70's blacksploitation films. Quite funny in bits, deliberate mistakes etc. Wouldn't buy it or probably watch it again tbh. But worth seeing once.

6/10

Machete

I watched this out of boredom, I'm glad I did. Quite an all star cast. Its quite ridiculous in an 80's action film type of way. Theres 2 up coming sequels as well.

8 chopped limbs out of 10 well worth a watch.

Scott Pilgrim vs the world.

absolute garbage, highlight of the film was seeing a NES on a shelf

1 puss filled blister out of 10

batman - pfft nonsense but watchable... just

john carter - meh disney pish although its got dominic west from the wire

act of valour - merit for the realism, shot using live ammo and is a good insight in to the workings of the navy seals. Acting sucks though due to ex soldiers in lead roles

Sherlock holmes 2 - too long and too gay

on a roll,

iron lady 3/10

anonymous 3/10

coriolanus 3/10

haywire 6/10

american psycho 6/10

on the waterfront

just watch battleship the one with riannah in the navy. It is a transformers rip off and has an unamerican sounding liam neeson as an admiral. it is nonetheless absolute tosh, which was great.

My ex is taking me to see Taken 2[II?] on Thursday I think it is, I'm looking forward to it as the original was pretty decent. I will report back on my musings.

skyfall - don't bother, wait for it to be on tv
silent hill 2 - ok if you like cliched horror. The nurses are back in this one and they're the best bit! We were the only people in the cinema, 12.50 for a 3d horror clearly not the popular choice on a sunday in november

i have watched about 40 other films since my last post but i'm not going to list them

dangerous method - david cronenberg film about freud and jung shagging the same patient, i fell asleep so it MUST be boring

headhunters - jo nesbo film, guy that did the original girl with the dragon tattoo. Was a good watch, recommend.

boxsets of game of thrones series 1 and boardwalk empire series 1 both thoroughly enjoyable, as are most of the series hbo churn out

killer joe - watch it its great. mathew mcconaughey is a murdering detective

the cabin in the woods - a horror that messes with the 'teens on summer vacation that goes wrong' genre. Ok some liked it more than me

chernobyl diaries - horror about 'teens on a summer vacation that goes wrong' with radio active zombies, quite enjoyable but i am a sucker for a zombie flick, hard to do since 28dayslater redefined the genre

taken2 - nice to look at but annoyingly unbelievable to the point where i started shouting at the screen

looking forward to the release of Ted this week on dvd

margin call - kevin spacey & Jezza Irons in the dawn of the economic crash in 2008, well worth a watch

Ted - 6 out of 10 - Bit dissapointed really. I lost interest after about 30mins. I'm sure teenagers will love it.

Fury - 4 out of 10 - Sam L Jackson in this story about a con man, poor.

Michael - 8 out of 10 - Austrian (subtitled) documentary style film about a paedo and really disturbing, still upset.

Screwed - 6 out of 10 - britflick about an ex-squadie that takes a job as a prison officer

Best Laid Plans - 7 out of 10 - another britflick about a scoucer that gets his retarded friend in to cage fighting

The Bourne Legacy - 4 out of 10 - boring toss, best bit is the first 20mins then its downhill

Batman Dark Knight Rises - 7 out of 10 - Saw it in the cinema aswell. It's good but just a bit too long

Looking forward to the Hobbit on 13th December
