Mk2 upgrades and exhaust?

Right then, I’m toying with the idea of a few mods and just wondered what is the suggested route to take? Also does anyone know what kind of gains can be made from the following:

remap
exhaust
air filter
anything else?

On the note of the exhaust I really fancy the idea of something a bit nicer sounding, nothing too loud just slightly better and also something that fills the apertures of the rear slightly better than the standard and to ditch those rusty old tips, any recommendations?

remap ~9BHP - RSTuning, proven
exhaust(inc manifolds and sports cats) ~10BHP - Janspeed full system, proven
exhaust(just back box) ~look and sound better!
air filter ~sounds better!

But remember all cars start @ approx 10BHP less than Renault stated.

However the remap and the zorst both bring the torque in noticeably earlier so do make a VERY worthwhile difference.

Do you think this could be because most of the Vee's here appear to have infant mileages (i.e haven't lossened up yet and hence are not producing maximum hp?)

Iv just had the Janspeed full system, it sounds nice not to loud or boomy and the torque comes in a lot lower down. Really inpressed with it.

Mine is on a mk1 tho. so if you put the system on a mk2 it should make a hell of a difference.

Not many have the Janspeed because of the out and out cost for the gains you get. I was lucky enough to get a second hand 1 so the cost was not to bad but i was still going to do it in the summer. If your going to keep the car a long time its well worth the investment.

Bring on the remap for me next.

Steve where did you get the Janspeed from?
 
I also got the Janspeed on a mark2. Since I drive it a lot, I didn't want the droning noise. The janspeed is very good for that matter. Since I cleaned out the cats, it sounds even better, a bit more darker, and it pops out flames from time to time out of the exhaust, still not like the good old 5 turbo, but nevertheless.........
I got mine from Ktec.
I also got the remap from RStuning, (just shipped the computer) and the combination works quite well for me.
