MER and Jetwashes

What are people's opinions on using MER? And also jetwashes? I have already MER'd my vee this weekend so a bit retrospective but nonetheless I highly value all your opinions :) And today I found a jetwash at the very same petrol pump Brett found me broken down at and got me onto the forum! The ones in France were awesome so glad I found one here :) But before I use it in future I want to know people's views on them. All replies much appreciated [smilie=thanks.gif]

I don't think I've ever used Mer on my Vee, but then again it's probably only been polished once a year since I've had it :violin:. I do sometimes use Mer on my wife's car tho' because it has the advantage of not being bothered by the car not being totally dry. Last time I used it tho' it was a chilly day and was a bastard to polish off again! For the Vee I instead favour SRP.

As to jetwashes, I personally think you've got to be careful with them and have them on a very broad stream. A former Vee owner called 137699 literally stripped the paint of his Phase 1 bumper when a jetwash sort of "got under" the paint.

I have a bottle of Mer in mint condition. ;)

I've had issues with jet washes blasting so much water into all the nooks and crannies and resulting in corrosion of wiring looms. They come in handy for emergencies, but I'd use them sparingly.

[smilie=thanks.gif] james and no i have never used that, also answering nas, i dont like those garage forecourt foaming jet washes, never cleaned mine up very good, well not as good as the £5 polish car wash down road! :approve:

Use jet wsh occasionally but prefer handwash tbh.

Not used mer. Use ag srp egp and also high definition wax.

Rarely use my karcher these days, too powerful and it pushed in my rubber seals around rear side windows [smilie=doubt.gif]
