Megane 225/Laguna III GT205 F4RT turbo compatibility- help required!

Turbo 4001CS

New Member
Hi,

Well, shortly after signing up, it now appears that I am in need of a new turbo for the Laguna! Great, baptism of fire with the new wheels.
I have tried to do my internet research, but am not 100% clear on whether the MkIII GT205 got the TD04-10T or the 14T like the Megane. I KNOW that I read a thread about it somewhere out there, but I can't find it.

I have sourced a 14T from a 225 anyway, if the car needs mapped afterwards then so be it. It isn't bloody quick enough anyway on the motorway.

As it seems from what I understand that the Megane 225 and Laguna GT205 are extremely similar in their versions of the F4RT installed, will I be safe to buy a turbo feed pipe, and gasket kit for the 14T-equipped 225 for the Laguna?

Thanks in advance for any answers/advice
Rohan:)

I have a 205GT also as far as I am aware the only difference between this engine and the 225 lump are turbo size and exhaust cam is more conservative. Not sure if the bits your asking about are the same - you would assume so but stranger things have happened. Could definitely do with the big turbo, power goes out really quick above 5k

Hi Tony,

Well, I wonder if it will need mapped with the 14T installed.

I think I will have to get the 225 turbo feed pipe and hope for the best- I mean, it has to fit the turbo end at least!
Do you know if the injectors are the same between the two as well?

Thanks Tony.Â
So with the bigger 14T installed from the 225 it will definitely need mapped then?

As far as you know are the injectors the same too?

Also does anyone know anywhere good to get a turbo gasket set from?

I am wondering if I should try phoning up somewhere like RS Tuning, maybe they might be kind enough to give a little advice?

Btw Tony, thanks for your info.

Hi guys, and greetings from Finland,

Just want to confirm that it's the very same TD04-14T for all these: Meg II RS 225/230 (F4R774), Lag II GT205 (F4R784), Lag III GT205 (F4R800). If you don't believe me, pls check the original part numbers from e.g. catcar.info and you will easily see those are the same. Get a one from Meg III RS (TD04-15T) if you need a slightly bigger one :yes3.gif:.

When it comes to injectors those are same for the 774 and 784 engines, but seems to have at least different part number for the 800 series like in Lag III.

Doesn't feel like it when you drive it , power all gone by 5500 in my Laguna. Moggy said he had been through the Renault parts book literally item by item for these and turbo was definitely smaller.

Nope, 10T is on those more common "low pressure turbo" 2.0T engines that have something like 120 kW and 125 kW or so.
That's our case in Brasil with the Fluence GT sport @kimbe . We use a tce180 version of the F4Rt (872 engine code, if I'm not wrong). We have a TD04L-10T installed and want to install the 14T or 15T from cousin Megane. We are looking for help in how to proceed with this project, installing support parts to extract the best out of this engine!
Do you guys know the codes of the Megane to find the correct parts in the lookup parts section?

That's right, TCe180 & 190 are 10T engines as well. Also higher compression ratio than in those 14T or 15T engines.
What codes are you looking for to be more exact?
