Megane meg 225/250 or clio 197 etc coil pack conversion

Anyone ever done this using the standard management?

Reason is I want to get a bit more bonnet vent clearance in the 19 16V.

As they are 2 wire COP as standard I guess that means they don't have internal ignitors. Can I just get a coil pack (e.g. from a 172) and wire it up or is it not quite that simple?

Hmmm, Could you run a 1*2 coil I wonder and trigger it from 2 of the 4 coil wires or just join the pairs together. I don't know anyone who has done it mate sorry.

Yeah there are only 2 pulsed GND feeds from the S3000 ECU, paired up 1&4 coils and 2&3 coils each in series. Looking at it the 1x2 coil has 4 pins, not sure what the assignment is but super easy to wire to e.g. a 3 pin Ford passive dual coil and use 1x2 leads.

Might give it a try.

Erm, thanks? I dont know enough about the individual coil on plug setup really! Need to learn

I know the 225 has been run on full 172 management, with coil pack and leads. We talked about this last month when I was losing the will with the Megane! haha

The 172 ecu wont run the COP from the 225 so I've been told. So not sure it would work the other way?
They are cheap enough to try I guess.
