Some pics of my car currently undergoing it's second cambelt service. Thoroughly impressed with Benfield Renault Carlisle.

Getting all belts done, water pump, new crank pulley and a full service. £1400 including vat. Next up is new discs, pads and braided hoses all round. This should see it mechanically perfect. :)

Nice, this is what I like to see, a truly organised workshop :). A good price for all that work as well.

Come on Colin, did you put all the parts that neat and organised?

If not credit to the mechanics and the garage, looks spot on :salut:

Plus some great photos to keep your files / service book up to date.

Haha no phil I turned up this morning and it was laid out exactly like that! Super impressed!

Hope I don't kick myself for not doing the clutch but it feels absolutely fine!

Top job and top price there Colin :approve:

It's nice to see Vee owners using main dealers as there's not many.

I work for renault and I wouldn't think about taking my Vee anywhere else. Main dealer history is the gold standard and if I was looking for a car, one had "main dealer history" and the other "back street" I know what I would choose.

Tannman - I wholehearted agree with you... to a point.
I think the viable options for Vee servicing are recommended main dealers or independent Vee specialists.
Run-of-the-mill motor garages might be best avoided...

I don't really agree to be honest. A book full of Renault stamps to me would shout a life time of "not up to the best possible standards" to me. Where as if it had a book full of genuine specialists signitures then I'd know every ounce of work was done to a high standard.
Everytime I've had any involvement with Renault its been bloody terrible. HOWEVER, this particular dealer is obviously one of the few who have what looks likes a diligent and methodical tradesman on the books! Well done for finding this one Colin!!

Got the car back home safe! It's running perfectly! All the old parts in a bag in the car, books fully stamped, the car was even parked over 2 spaces in the carpark when I collected it! :approve:

This is how a 6 year / 9000 mile belt looks lol...

Benfield Carlisle, 5/5 top marks!

Haha, yeah, they are on borrowed time to be honest, cool to see but ultimately pointless keeping them.

Still liking the KW's Iain? hows the undertrays holding up? :race:

Last time I drove the car any distance was the Scotland trip tbh, I'm gonna get it raised a tad and get it set up as best it can be after belts have been done.

Who's doing your belts Iain? You joining in on the group belt change Simon's arranging?

I have spoken to Simon about it yeah, need to see about the clutch/flywheel situation too. Need to see about the cost too.
