Coming up for Sale my Renault Sport Clio Phase 2 255 V6
Initially through the medium of this great club 'v6Clio.net' before being more widely advertised.

Registration Number as from 11 June 2022 - GP53 BMY- formally -3490 ED-

First Registered on 03 November 2003 I have the V5 in my name and am the first and only owner. (Rare one owner car !).

The car is [v6plaque]71[/v6plaque] of 191 Illiad Blue UK cars.
Currently with black wheels and side pods beautifully hand painted with the Renault Logo.

I am only considering parting with this superb car due to lack of use, only a thousand miles since 2018 and a dodgy knee making a manual transmission difficult over any moderate distance. It’s a big decision for me to part with this car but softened by also having a modified Phase 1.

Serviced by myself, former garage proprietor, race engineer and engine builder. I would consider myself a Clio V6 specialist. I have attached a photo of the Renault Clip screen showing no computer faults as at 7 June 2022.

Apart from the afore mentioned black wheels and pods there is just a non-standard (but made by Renault Sport) front splitter, a washable pipercross panel airfilter (in the standard airbox), red stuff brake pads and braided brake hoses on this otherwise oem car.

MOT tested until 19 June 2023

Next Service due November 2023

Current mileage 38,750

New cambelt, water pump and accessory belt kit currently being fitted. Car will be available for viewing in a couple of weeks. I'm based in East Sussex.

Obviously HPI clear and has never sustained any accident damage, the front bumper was repainted free of charge by Renault due to stone chip damage in 2004. So now after 18 years there is various fairly light stone chip damage and other marks mainly to the front bumper.

I have both original keys and all documents supplied with the vehicle.

Offers considered around and hopefully in excess of £50,000.

Replacement Tyres and Batteries (except the most recent battery) not recorded.

Engine coming out on Monday, so there is a one off opportunity for anyone seriously interested in this car to check it out and have a good look round it on Tuesday 28th before it goes back together.

[mention=6134,#000000]Smithclassic[/mention]

Brand new OEM wheels with new Michelin tyres lined up for fitment,
and as I can't find any replacement side pods I may have to bite the bullet and offer to repaint them ( removing my son's excellent pin striping :( ) in OEM Titanium.

I followed the same Ph2 path with black alloys fitted in the Noughties. Matching pods & attaching a front splitter were popular/fashionable then… but definitely could benefit from an ‘as-factory’ reset for the Twenties.

Not many 1-owners cars out there, so correct appointment and photography should attract plenty of interest. Glwts!

Belts last done in 2011 and because of the 'belts must be done at 5 years' brigade on here, when selling the belts need to be recently done or you take a hit on the price.
So the belts are done and it seems almost criminal to take off and dispose of these parts that are still in perfect order
New Michelin PS4's fitted to new OEM wheels with the correct metal valves and the pods are in the paint shop.
Such a lovely car !

To be fair Ed, ‘collector-grade’ is not something that v6clio.net members have made up - it’s more of a box-ticking exercise that is governed by collectors’ whims.

I’ve long admired those who’ve ignored the cambelt service schedule. I’ve always thought that there was more damage risk of engine dropping (during a cambelt service) than risk of a belt ever snapping…

I think you'll find that members on here were making a big thing over cam belt change intervals long before the vee became a 'collectable'. However it has as you say become a box ticking exercise.

Gone as a trade in. I now have an Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio as my new daily [smilie=icon_eek.gif]
I did leave all the club information with the paperwork so hopefully that all gets passed on.
I still have the Phase 1, although not totally original ! and my son has his Mars Phase 1. So will still be maintaining my connection with the club.

Wowzers! I guess that’s the easiest way of doubling the power of your V6… chop the Ph2 in for a Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Something you can use all year around too!

I hadn’t thought it would be possible to trade. I can’t imagine Glass’s (or equivalent) could accurately predict. I guess they would’ve made the necessary phone calls to other specialists.

Yes, I’m still looking forward to meeting your Ph1…

Collecting cars would only set the reserve at £44K and I wasn't prepared to risk that, selling privately didn't generate a lot of serious interest, I guess dealer reassurance warranty/finance etc. plays a part in that. The vee had already gone in my head once the reg. was off and the wheels replaced and I'd already decided on a Stelvio. 'auto100' near Mansfield happened to have what I was looking for, nice guys very professional and obviously have an interest in rare and exotic cars !
and
the Stelvio is mighty quick [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

I can concentrate on fine tuning the Ph1 now but only outing planned so far is a trip to Goodwood Breakfast Club on 6th November but if you are ever this way give me a shout.
