Full transparency I’ve had a nightmare today and I’m so pissed off with myself. I’ve come here as my safe place, it’s like my virtual therapy couch.
In short I was raising car and was trying to get jack stand in the right place. It got stuck under the car in the wrong place and the jack slipped, car lowered and jack stand went through the floor pan. I’m fine and I know it could have been worse with me being injured but I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve spoken to Anil and he said it can be fixed easily enough but it’s just the additional stress and money of it all.

I swear this car is cursed, I don’t believe in all that voodoo shit but it’s truly amazing how much this car pushes me to the limit.
Today was supposed to be a day of joy after over a year of taking this route of a big change in set up and although the engine has started and sounds mega I just feel deflated. See video below.
As much as I’m pleased that a big milestone has been reached the car continued to fight me even after the first start.
Basically the circled fitting below is the oil return from my turbo pressure regulator and it returns back in to the filler neck. Due to the design of the filler neck and as the catch can fittings come off it too, the filler neck cannot drain quick enough which in turn fill the catch can line followed by the catch can itself. So after running the car for 90 seconds I was greeted by over a litre of oil spilling out of the catch can.
In order to solve this issue I have ordered the new Turbo Smart pressure regulator which has just been released which is a return less system. Another £160 spend plus the cost of the floor pan fix.
Not a good day
Oh there’s also a decent exhaust leak on the exhaust manifold side so not looking forward to messing with that
I think it’s a case of putting the car away for a week or so to help reduce my want to set it alight.
