LY for sale

Children children.......its all a matter of opinion what something is worth. Everyone is right and everyone is wrong so when we look back at this thread in a years time it'll still read a load of bollocks and the exact same thing will be getting discussed about a mint ph1 asking 12k or a ropey ph2 at 14k. Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks its nonesense James. As I said before, bore on.

Brett, top man.

Sometimes I wonder what you have been smoking 8) - but on this one, I'm right behind you.

Way too few to set a price so why try?

Somebody buy the damn car and stop my hoarding compulsion getting the better of me.........

I would think that most people are interested in the discussion, just because it bores you it doesnt bore all-

I dont really think anyones thrown their toys out the pram- just banter really. At the end of the day a cars worth what people will pay, the value is also relevent to how long someone wants to keep it for sale-

Most vee owners can dictate the price because they are outright owners & not struggling for money......- not all owners however are in that situation- & craig what do you think the prices are then-?

The advert is not good at all and may hinder his attempts to sell.

The choice of Vee's is so limited compared to a year or 2 ago so he may well get what he's asking TBH.

The topic isn't boring Steve but attaching it to every single thread concerning a car for sale is in my opinion. It's no skin off my back as 1,it doesn't concern my car and 2, my car is worth peanuts as is. All I'm trying to say is there are multiple threads exactly the same on here and at the end of the day, each and every 1 comes to the same conclusion fella. :approve:

No worries-

to be fair though there multiple for sale threads on here & the 'My V6 for sale' of which I have contributed to the odd few-

but hey ho, I dont set the price so if people disagree they only need to choose their sale price when they come to sell it- makes no difference on here or the punter on the street.

Dear Acid

I notice you own a LY ?
Or your description Acidv6 says you do ?
Have you still got it ?

No because I sold the Acid to Chris- or which now the car is no more RIP-
I sold the LY to Debs- who still owns it-

Whys that-

The only further thing i wish to add to this 'values' discussion is that if any of these cars sell abroad at anywhere near asking price, we want to be having a serious word with ourselves in the UK about our bargain basement prices:

Duncan, perhaps you could find some links for the cheapest v6's available on the continent, for those that might be thinking the ones above are just dreamers. ;)

Ok the cheapest v6s i could find across the continent where phase one RHD ex UK cars. There are no RHD Ex UK Phase twos for sale at the moment (a shed of UK Illiad which was painted LY recently sold in France - but i cant remember the exact value).

I pay alot of attention to the continental market as its a great source of register info, i would comment that these prices are not refelctive average prices. They are the equivalent of the odd 6k ph1 or 10k ph2 in the UK. Bottom of the barrell in other words.

Phase one:

The cheapest:
RHD
LINK - € 9,999 - Germany, Iceberg. Evidence of a front end smack. Bodywork in poor condition. 39,200kms
LINK € 12,000 - France - Iceberg -have seen this one up close before - was on 11+ owners in the UK before it was exported years ago.
LINK € 12,990 - France - 67 000 KMs - Iceberg - looks like its had a smack - no D-panel.

LHD

LINK € 12,990 - France - 42 000 Kms - Iceberg - 2002 - possibly a the cheapest genuine one
LINK - € 14,500 - Holland - 86,311 kms - 2001 - used, but looks geniune.

Phase two:
LHD
LINK - € 19,160 - 2003 - 39,000kms - Germany - Illiad
LINK - € 21,900 - 2004 - 58,000kms - Germany - Illiad
LINK - € 22,900 - Spain - Illiad - 2003 38,500 kms. 3 owners.
LINK - € 23,500 - France - Illiad - 2003 - 111 000 Kms

To help comparrisons, as of today a euro is worth marginally over 85p.

Ali will be along soon now I'm sure... Lol

Thanks Duncan.. It beggars belief, to me, that some owners and so called enthusiasts knock the prices of these cars in the UK.
It's not just a case of current owners looking through rose tinted spectacles, the proof is clearly visible that we have been lucky enough to own our cars at bargain basement prices.

I'm definatly going to convert my car to left hand drive should I ever want to sell it! It's not a uk car either so I wonder if that would make a difference............forgetting the Audi lump for a sec lol.

I would imagine the ph1 illard wright off will end up abroad as seems cheap enough for them to buy and convert
