Luxo Barge

Wow Chris you've done some job with this car wat a detailed report you've done, true Chris H fashion lol

this saffy is one of those things that builds slowly with all the little bits simply cos theres not much else needed for it but when this car makes the change that its going to your pants will be removed and you will be fisted before you know whats happening, theres almost too much potential with this car chris, it should also be noted that from that era the saffy has to be one of renaults most under rated cars, i need to hear that thing on the ik, you should have heard the black 19 with its green stuff ik on, it was unreal, im raging i didnt keep that ik, even on idle the thing actually sizzled, and it was the size of my head, also we sold a 2.0 celica with the ik off my clio on it, it whistled like a kettle, loudly

Your air con has a weak point - the drier bottle. They rust to bits and its hidden right next to the radiator but a bugger to get out. You'll need to remove the entire front of the car to get at it and you'll need to heat it up to undo the bolts holding the drier bottle in place.

The good news is they're available on ebay at the moment for a fiver!

drier is fine, well its not leaking and could probably do with changing, where are they for a fiver? I can't see them.

Anyway small update.

my dads saffy has got the silverstones on but i had to pin back the wheel arch liners on the front due to rubbage. ive also replaced the HG but my dads cambelt was a tad easier than that as its a 2.2 12v...

btw what mpg do you normally return on the trip?

don't have a trip comp on this one.

But mpg works out mid 20's, will break 30mpg on a run though but thats not often and tbh its usually on cruise around 80 if on the motorway.

Also the aircon is ALWAYS on.

The laguna is much better on fuel.

The 16V is like a prius compared to both of them though.

Cost me £99.50 the other day to top it off, half a tank already and its only done 150 miles.

The 2.5 would be better on fuel I reckon and the diesel would obviously be ideal.

That's almost as bad as the m5 lol. I get 29 on a run and 14 round town, less if I boot it lol.
The combined figure from BMW was 19mpg but I think that's optimistic lol.
