Luxo Barge

assuming you mean the laguna, the laguna handles better, looks nicer, nice modern features but the interior space is shocking.

The laguna is cheaper to run as it weighs about half a ton less as well.

i think i could count on one hand the safranes in this country, i for one enjoy their clumsy looks, awesome car as i understand, if i ever get one ill be consulting this project a lot chris

this is my sisters car, has been since the megane coupe went. I drive it now and again.

Aside from the steering and the a/c needing topped up its fine. Just heavy on fuel, small engine big car

awesome car though, its another one of those cars i'd have in a heart beat if costs werent an issue

yeah its a great car, comfy handles really well for the size and the climate control etc is awesome

The fact its an auto makes it a great lazy cruiser as does the cruise control however you are constantly fiddling with it

i have never ever driven an automatic, if im ever round your way i demand a shot of that thing, it really is something id love to own someday too though, i love cars like that with all the addons etc

you may need to be quick, she wants something smaller and I have no use for it so it will most likely end up on the weighbridge, all 217564 tons of it

oh no, surely not... would you consider selling it if there was any interest to someone on here or would the decent scrap value and weight be too much temptation to resist?

rather sell it. Just who wants to buy something thats £215 to tax, 100 quid on fuel a week and relatively dear to insure.

If it was a diesel it wouldn't be an issue its just to expensive to run considering her longest journey is about 20 miles. Its only used around town for short (less than 5 mile journeys) so gets through the juice.

Its great on a run though, good on fuel as well on the motorway

yeah itd be a hard one to shift especially in the current climate, such a shame a lot of nice cars are meeting their death as a result

You've done well. As for the steering rack, if its like the 2.5 you might need to haul out the entire engine and box. It's not a nice job and a PITA to actually get loose. Careful with the power steering pipes too. The low pressure return pipe is still available but the high pressure pipe is not. If you damage it you're screwed so will have to get a hydraullic pipe specialist to fix it - I speak from experience.

Cambelt isn't too bad to do but go easy on the waterpump as the bolts can snap and at 7mm they're a pain to drill out so I sent my engine away to a pro.

I have done the racks on a couple, just dropping the subframe is the easiest way, still not had time to do it on this one.

Its up for sale now
